also, who is better than us?  we´re top 4 in a top 4-6 conference.  so that is top 20, add in a top 1 recruiting class and we are a top 10 school easy.  when jobs better than that open up they tend to go to guys coaching ku or ou, so we should be fine.

This is why I love Tyree coming to KSU.  If someone would actually look at what Tyree plead to and the other facts of his case, they'd probably see that it wasn't as severe/major incident (for Tyree anyways)...but people won't and it will be perceived as though Huggins is "reverting" back to his old ways.  This just ensures Huggins stays with KSU.  Hoskins needs to slightly bump a parking attendant with his car in the off season.

I thought that was what you were getting at but I wasn't sure. Apparently OU, ku, and Maryland would still take a chance at Huggins. Well they took a chance at Tyree anyway..

The way that huggs acts with the media I can't imagine after his time in manhattan that he would go to a place that would be a circus around him all the time, I really think manhattan and huggs are a near perfect fit for eachother.

We're safe with Huggs.  Until we show some sign of weakened administrative support, he's here for the long haul.  IMO.

I don't think I'd feel safe if I were an aTm fan though.  I would bet Kentucky puts on the full court press for him.  Or Arkansas.

Next year all eyes will be on him.  If he farts, the media will know about it.

The media will be all over K-state next season, just like they have been over Texas because of Durant and Ohio State because of Oden.  No matter what the K-state basketball image is getting a giant facelift.  Our name will be getting out to more recruits out there.

Who?

I was playing the part of "perception" for that post.

And I think Tyree is technically a felon.

Not sure.

I still think this whole thing is funny.  I view K-state to be one of the more conservative public schools in the nation, and we have a coach that is portrayed by a lot of the media to be a deadbeat.

Of course if we hadn't been so conservative, and not played by the rules, then we probably wouldn't have had the 'reputation' to hire Huggs.

Side note:  I -love- reading about all the Mizzou fans who wanted to hire Huggins but couldn't.  And I -love- reading their lamenting posts when we win and they're stuck with Woolly v2, winning just enough games to keep you interested and get your hopes up, but never accomplishing much.  How some will give the "you have to give Anderson time, success isn't immediate in D-1 basketball" and then some bitter MU fan will point out that Huggy is already top 4 after K-state was in the bottom half of the conference for the better part of the decade.  Then they'll get into a giant catfight over Huggy being a deadbeat, or why they should have hired him over Anderson, the recruits we're getting, etc etc etc.

Basically, I just love having other schools bitter about our success.

I got that, but the felony charge was dismissed.   He was only convicted of the misdemeanor assault and battery charges.

Which is normal for any team that wants to win championships.

Sweet!  The perception is still "felony rapist", however.

I  can already hear the chants from the opposing student sections next year:  "felony rapist...  *clap*...  *clap*...  *clap clap clap*"

IF you wanna be a contender...there will be a necessity to grow a thick skin.

I could care less if the ku fans chanted "DUI" when the team traveled to Lawrence....as much as they probably didn't mind KSU fans chanting "dead beat daddy" when Rush was on the free throw line.

Why? Becuase they beat us. That's why.

Chant and get bitter all you want....throw your barbs....but winning is where the real damage is done to the opponent.

Anything that has "felony" in it means we're going for multiple championships.

He's your coach because KSU hired him.  JR stole things, which is a terrible decision.  JameSon Curry dealt pot in high school, another bad decision.  Decent kids make bad decisions.  Hopefully they are punished so they do not make bad decisions again.  Not sure if either one fit that mold (decent kid/bad decision), but they definitely didn't do anything to prove they were not decent kids making a bad decision.

Forcible rape of a 15-year old girl is only done by a bad human being.  This is not Huggins first recruit that forcibly raped a young girl.  Huggins also has had players who tied their roomate to a chair and lit them on fire.  Players who beat up women and punch police horses.  These are not isolated incidences that can be explained away by hearing the "whole story".

Huggins has a long history, a pattern, of recruiting bad people that continue to be terrible for the society they live in.  I seriously wonder why a parent would send their young girl to Manhattan with Huggins' players there.

MCMW

God, ku fans do not want Tyree at KSU.

She claims he DID stick it in her, but whatever.  He definitely held her down and has admitted to assaulting her.  Even if Huggins's lawyer's fabrication were correct, Evans is clearly a terrible human being.

I seriously think that if this story got more general press there would be a lot of dad's pulling their girls out of Silo this fall.
