I've heard stories about PETA, but I never imagined they'd be THIS stupid.  I mean, did she do any research at all into what happened?  Or did she just write a blind letter based on the complaint of some bleeding heart liberals from Lawrence?  I've already bombed her email with every porn and offensive mailing list I could find.

I'm not sure about anyone else, but this only encourages me to find a way to bring in even more chickens in the future.

peta considers the ownership of pets to infringe on the rights of animals.  actually, the humane society very nearly does as well.  they just do a better job of hiding their agenda when soliciting donations.

"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."

I wanna know how she believes that chicken's are extremely intelligent?

I couldn't get the link to work, but I am surprised it has taken this long for PETA to have a problem with the chickens.

IMO peta is a worthless organization that just wastes peoples time and I have heard of them getting more riled up for something much less frivilous than the chickens.  I saw where they were suing someone over the way in which she killed a rat.  Few years ago and I am not sure what happenned, but I hope it got thrown out.

Aren't chickens the animals that often drown in rain because they stair straight up into the sky with their mouths open?

PETA's nothing more than yet another anti-capitalist pack of leftist hoodlums.  Nothing to see here folks, move along.

PETA members should slit their wrists

They are against the use of animals for researching medical advances - while the Vice President of PETA (Mary Beth Sweetland) uses insulin that was developed from testing on dogs

Oh hey check out their nice non-profit digs!

PETA sucks.  After the blizzard in CO the govener asked PETA if they would help feed the stranded and starving cattle.  PETA denied him saying they were only going to slaghter the animals if they were saved. he replied in a report calling them "losers"

Goodness gracious!  If we'd only looked at their wikepedia entry before the game, we'd have known better.

By the way, I find it interesting that PETA has been linked to terrorist organizations (as determined by the FBI) called the Earth Liberation Front and Animal Liberation Front.  The great science magazine Nature had an article several months ago about the ELF - it pointed out that their actions against science labs were often very counterproductive since they were slowing research that would eventually be beneficial to animals.

As someone else said, PETA complaining about this just turns it into a totally laughable situation.  That organization has ZERO credibility outside of the crazies already subscribing.  I'm a liberal, but that organization represents everything that is wrong with extreme liberalism.  Everything.

THE best PETA action of all time:
I believe it took place in upstate new york. On a particular stretch of road during rut, highway cops had been responding to an incredibly numerous amount of accidents caused by deer in areas clearly marked as deer crossing. The cops, in an attempt to get people's attention, made signs reading, "Killer Deer Next 10 Miles." PETA made comments that the signs were "disparaging to deer" and picketed.

Couldn't find an article, but it's mentioned here:

Does anyone else find it extremely funny that PETA sent a letter to our school about chickens being thrown onto the court when we have entire majors dedicated to animal testing and farming. The fact that our school has courses on how to butcher cows doesn't bother PETA as much as 3 chickens do?!

I also like how they imply that we stop letting people bring chickens to our games. They think that chickens are equal to people and most places allow chickens to watch a basketball game as well. I guess I'll have to leave my superfan chickens at home next game. :'(

As long as the chickens had tickets, whats the problem?

Seriosly, next year a couple cat fans should dress in red and blue at the KSU/ku game in AFH, and throw white kitten beanie babies spray painted purple to get the squawks some publicity!
