When they turned off the lights, I got pseudo excited, thinking there would be lasers or a cool jumbotron presentation.

No.  The lights were only off for a minute, if that.  It was probably a mistake.

Instead we get Wyatt, telling us how awesome we are and how much money we've raised.  Then a short speech from Coach Martin, again telling us how awesome we are.  Then they played the black out flash thing, and it was over.

Then we stood around waiting for the game to start.  A few awesome things happened during this time, including Bill Walker coming up and standing next to me for like five minutes.
