I don't do premium on either one...and since this site came back up I've been doing most of my "serious" discussion over here.

Who's supporting KSUFans.com?

Well, you've got over 800 posts there.  bslimz has nearly 1500.  and, Nation has 13,000+.  I could go on, but what's the point.

It's nice to have you guys over here, and what not, but by "support" I meant supporting that community and helping them to build traffic so as to increase their advertising revenues.

I've got nothing against y'all, and didn't really mean to single you out personally.  I just find it odd that people like to sling mud at FITZ and his wrongdoings while looking the other way at the unethical behavior of Sean Kelly and Jim Heckman.  Those two are FAR BIGGER slimeballs in my opinion.

Then, on the other hand there is the "I don't pay for any of the sites" crowd.  At some point, we as a community, need to figure out how to share in the costs of running a site like this.  mjrod takes it all on himself and just donates his efforts and bandwidth, but he definitely deserves SOMETHING for it.

Most everybody that posts in the WarZone kicks in $15/year, but we have some cheapass freeloaders overthere as well. (ie-Goldy)

I don't even know the story behind Seank and KSF, or Fitz, or anything. I'd like to know more about it, in detail.

    The very best.
barry and wildcatnation don't like fitz simply because he wanted Wooly outta town.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I doubt even half the warzone pays Rodless.
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

I'm sure that's how all the cheapasses feel.  Fortunately, for freeloaders like you, there are some that donate way more than the minimum.

so individuals that post on KSUFans.com but don't pay for "inside" access are supporting that site by contributing content and increasing ad revenues.  but individuals that post on ksufans.com but don't contribute $15 to help pay for site maintainence are freeloading scum.

perfectly logical.

Wouldn't we all.

I support them all...the more places to discuss, the better...as for this place, where do I donate?

FWIW, I think Goldy is "freeloading scum" becuase of her complaints about the donors and the insistance upon not sharing in the costs of the warzone while running up a big post count.  if you want to lump yourself in with goldy, then more power to ya.  When the time comes, I'll gladly chip in whatever mj asks for here, within reason of course...

look, at some point, mjrod MUST come up with a way to fund the site.  my guess is that it'll simply be a "donation based" type of thing, but i don't know.  And, while there probably won't be any "premium content", I'd also venture a guess that he'll throw in some sort of value-added feature that will be unavailable to the non-donors/"freeloading scum".

i hope that clears things up a bit.

bookie, yes, that does clear it up a bit.

and if i may offer a suggestion...  i wouldn't be willing to pay for most "premium content" type things, but if mjrod is looking for a way to fund the site.... i think i might be willing to pay for an ignore goldy button.

several handicapping sites that i post at have "ignore" features where you can set certain posters to ignore and none of their posts show up.  does this software have that?

As for "premium content"... we are NOT a recruiting &/or news service, so to that extent, we have no "premium content".

at the big12warzone, donors get some file hosting/sharing capabilities, etc.  my guess is something like that could be in the works, maybe even the ability to have an  [email protected] email address... I dunno.  Just brainstorming some ideas.

What Nation said.

I don't know the backstory behind the changes in the various sites, other than the case I found earlier when I read something about it during the Ron Prince hire.

I enjoy participating on the different boards (except FITZ's, b/c the free board is worthless).  I've had periods when I haven't been very active, and during those changes take place to the sites that I'm not aware of.  I also don't follow the "poster drama" very much.  Heck, a few months back I wasn't even aware that fatty was known for making up lots of different usernames to post on phog.net.

I appreciate guys like MJROD who put sites like this up.  The quality and features of this site, IMO, are much better than the other two.  Enough so that I'd probably help chip in.  Thus far, though, what the other sites have to offer just haven't been worth it to me to buy premium when they offer free.

bslimz - I completely understand what you are saying and am in complete agreement with you, although I am, and have been, a premium member at GPC.com for nearly five years.  It's the best overall KSU disscussion available in my opinion, but one does have to pay $9.95 to keep the trash out.  ie - no goldy

You'll get no argument from me about the free board at Fitz's site being the "cyber sewer" however and I just plain refuse to even visit the scout/insiders site on principle alone.  Hell, it should tell y'all something when Tom Light is welcomed by the owners/mods over there, but that's a whole nother rant!

There's some great things we could do here, and mjrod and I have disscussed several ideas.  But, without having a full-on recruiting info staff or news reporters a message board isn't much of a business model that isn't just a cash pit.

KSF doesn't welcome Tom Light. They just don't ban him(or myself) because a board with only one-sided posters and opinions would suck. Tremendously.

EarthdogFred is a great example of this. He's allowed on the Hoops board for the sake of having the opposite opinion.

For 15$ if you point the little turd out to me, I'll beat him senseless.

Or, I'd do it for free. Either way, it's long overdue.

seank is a UT grad and his buddy Heckman is a Washington guy I think.  Both of them totally &@#%ed mjrod and SPC over on the KSF.com deal a few years ago, but everybody conveniently overlooks that.

I got banned over there last week.

Post one picture of a teddy bear and add some text about Naismith being touched in certain places by Tom Light and .... goner.

Well, there's definitely some value in having an attractive and easy-to-use board with the features this one has, IMO.

Keep up the good work, and thanks!

Credit for the software goes to SPC for finding it on the interweb.

It's a lot like UBB in it's appearance, but a lot simpler to use, faster, and has many more features.

BULLcrap.

Example # 1: When KSF first switched from this format to Scout/Insiders seank & his bunch of sock puppets and TomLight were the only posters there.  Heckman got TomLight to help out until they started getting some traffic.

Example #2:  The absolute BEST overall KSU disscussion as it currently stands is in Wabash Station.  And, we don't need a dumbass gay-u hanger on to litter the board with useless nonsense.  There are plenty of differing opinions amongst good and true students, fans and alums of THE Kansas STATE University.

In all actuality, you suck.  Tremedously.
