You can't see any contact w/the ref in this video.  But, supposedly, he stepped on his back foot.  The ref falls like he's been shot.  This looks really weak.

That was a flop that would make Bill Lambier and Vlade Divac proud!

All I saw in that video was a monster transition dunk.

Is the ref a semi-pro wrestler on the weekends?

Neither one of the technicals should have been called. It's just like it was for Bill Walker in his first couple of games. The refs want to call the T on the star player. It will always happen. Mayo had no idea he was even called for a foul on the first one until his teammates told him. That crap's ridiculous.

He deserved the first T.

Everyone knows you don't touch the ball after a made basket.

Maybe, but he dropped it before the ref even called the T. That was what was lame.

I think he got the first T for holding the ball AND staring down the opponent.  Then the same guy who gave him the first T is watching him the whole time as he walks away, then back into the mix of players at half court.  I think the mistake he made was not staying away, I can't say I blame the official there even though he didn't do much.  Plus, they said on the video that there was plenty of trash going on during the game, I'm sure they felt they needed to take control of the game.  The "fall" was a bit dramatic, though maybe Mayo did hit his foot.  I don't think it was flagrant, but again, he would've been better off just staying away from the official at that point.  When he gets paid he can do what he wants, but I'm sure official, especially at HS games, don't take well to kids trying to argue their case.  I know this is another level of HS ball, but at some point its best just to stay away from those guys, especially in a highly contested game like that.

He needs to understand that at this point he is a target! Sure he has just realized that. Hope the best for him but he has to be smart about things!
