As of now, Big 12 standings look like this:
Big 12 All
Texas Tech 4-1 14-5
Kansas 4-1 17-3
Texas A&M 4-1 15-3
Texas 4-1 14-5
Oklahoma St. 3-2 17-3
Kansas State 3-2 14-6
Oklahoma 3-3 11-7
Iowa State 2-3 10-8
Nebraska 1-3 12-6
Missouri 1-4 12-6
Baylor 1-5 11-8
Colorado 1-5 5-11
This next week really gives the top half of the league a chance to seperate from the bottom half nearing the midway point, and could set up a big match-up for us going to Austin if we can get two wins...
Schedule for the next week: (projections in bold, granted there will probably be a surprise or two)
Sat., Jan. 27 Colorado at Kansas* ESPN Plus AF 12:30 p.m.
Oklahoma at Texas A&M* ESPN RA 1:00 p.m.
Texas Tech at Missouri* ESPN Plus MA 3:00 p.m.
Baylor at Texas* ESPN2 EC 5:00 p.m.
Nebraska at Kansas State* FSNMW BC 5:00 p.m.
Iowa State at Oklahoma State* ESPN Plus GIA 7:00 p.m.
Mon., Jan. 29 Kansas at Nebraska* ESPN BD 8:00 p.m.
Tue., Jan. 30 Longwood at Oklahoma LNC 7:00 p.m.
Colorado at Baylor* FSNRM/FSNSW FC 7:30 p.m.
Wed., Jan. 31 Iowa State at Texas A&M* ESPNU RA 7:00 p.m.
Missouri at Kansas State* ESPN Plus/ESPNU BC 8:00 p.m.
Texas at Texas Tech* ESPN2 USA 8:00 p.m.
If that would happen, the standings would look like this:
Big 12 All
Texas Tech 6-1 16-5
Kansas 6-1 19-3
Texas A&M 6-1 17-3
Texas 5-2 15-6
Kansas State 5-2 16-6
Oklahoma St. 4-2 18-3
Oklahoma 3-4 12-8
Iowa State 2-5 10-10
Baylor 2-6 12-9
Nebraska 1-5 12-8
Missouri 1-6 12-8
Colorado 1-7 5-13
Then we'd have a shot to go to Texas and get to 6-2 at the midway point in the league, at worst 5-3. Our non-ku north brethren would be in big trouble, and we'd still be in sight of the top of the league. Its fun to look at projections with K-State being in the top 4 or 5 of this league. Granted, this is just fan stuff and you never know what could happen, but its nice for there to be some hope and anticipation for KSU basketball.
