I hate everything about it including but not limited to the following:
We need to simplify our basketball court.

Powercats should have nothing to do with basketball. For football the powercat is fine but let's keep it on the gridiron.
The fact that we have a giant powercat head at centercourt blows ass. I know ku had the state of KS outline a few years back and got rid of it in favor of a giant bird thingy (copied us), I'd prefer to have a outline of our state at centercourt (copy them copying UNC).

The font on the endlines sucks ass as does the huge KANSAS STATE at center court. It looks like it's trying to impress and dazzle. Let's let the players do that.

Again, simpler is better, understated is good.

Maybe they could even use the correct hue of purple (ROYAL) next time they decide to dazzle us with their 1954 Marketing Dept genius.

The lane is fine, but I'd prefer white dashes to separate the player blocks instead of purple.

Finally, paint the aluminum benches alternating purple and white, as well as the million foot wide stairs between each section, purple and white alternating. No reason to expose as much freakin' concrete as we have in that hole that we call a gym.

That's about it.

El ChubreCubara can you photoshop these ideas for me and i'll forward them to my friends in the Athletic Dept.

I am having a hard time believing someone is sitting at home all charged up to go to a basketball game because the look of the court has changed. Do we have any marketing research to indicate perhaps this is indeed the case?

It's a fact, I read it somewhere. People don't go to our games because they are scared to because the court is embarrassing.

I actually agree here with Pissclams.....

Our court is a little loud with the huge Powercat. I wish we would have taken the old Ahearn floor and moved it to Bramlage.

I like the simple look too......kinda like the Dean Smith Center's floor.

its better than that pink neon 'wildcats' we had over a clip art basketball in the early 90's.

there are just too many different varieties of purple. its hanus. plus with all the writing all over. ick.

This is the equal of people who actually take the time to watch sports just to be critical of the announcers. Quit paying attention to the announcers/court and watch the damn games!!!!!

It's funny you mention UNC's because I was sitting on my couch this afternoon getting drunk and watching Carolina's game and that's what got me thinking of our crappy floor.

I want a raised floor in Bramlage, like vintage Ahearn with the dirt floor and Minnesota plays on now. Imagine how "on top of the game" you would be if that floor was raised 3-4 feet. I think that would make it a very unigue place to play.

I also am all for painting lots of the concrete like suggested at the top of this thread.

With some tweaks and a lot of winning, Bramlage could become a very special place to play.

Also, I am in favor of the nickname "The Purple Pit". I know it is copying New Mexico, but I think we need to embrace what we have and we have a great big pit in the ground that we play basketball in. Pretty fitting IMO. This was a nickname used in the early 90's, I think we should adopt "THE PURPLE PIT" as our main nickname... sure beats "The Fred" or "The Bram".

I don't understand all of this piss claming and moarning about attendance. I can tell you one thing. It has nothing to do with whats on the court. LOL The program has been in decline for 20 years to and it's going to take some time to rejuvinate things! I think the fact that all tickets sold speaks volumes. Things at KSU have NEVER been better. We have two major sports that are definitly on the up swing. This university has NEVER had that until now. My suggestion is to let those that got it here continue on! All hail the POWER CAT!!! You are crazy to think that our terrible attendance figures aren't directly related to our fans being embarrassed by our court/ "gym". Maybe I could teach you a thing or two about psychology/ "behavior" or maybe you skipped that CLASS while at KSU?? LOL!

After watching K-State basketball the past 15 years or so consistently, this is the best court we've had. The teal in the Asbury era with the dimpled powercat was the worst. Never liked the purple inside the arcs either. I think the current court looks pretty decent, pretty simple, I like the big powercat and the text on the floor. The one improvement I would make is that the font should be the ATEuropa-bold font (the one Nike uses). If the "Kansas State" (and that could be just "K-State) and the "Wildcats" on the ends were that font it would be much better.

Settling for "better than the Asbury era" doesn't do it for me.

They could make the whole floor purple and use white lines and go for a Boise St look.

That powercat looks kinda "special" if you know what I mean, and by that I meant in looks like it rides to it's special school in a short bus, and by that I mean it looks like it may have some sort of learning disability. (And not the funny kind like Rainman.)

Who's idea was it to put a HUGE powercat logo on the court. It's too much like ku's.

I agree on simplicity and clean.

So quit your piss claming and over reaction to nothing! LOL If they play well they will come! Simple as that! Not the power cats fault man! Two decades ago? Gee, that's right about the same time we adopted the disgusting floor concept. Not hardly a coincidence at all. I'd say.
