We lost because they played us at home, they had two weeks to prepare, we had injuries, our coaches made some questionable playcalls, our coaches weren't able to make the necessary adjustments, our freshman QB had an off game, and our guys came out playing undisciplined.

If that had just been a block in the back penalty, wouldn't it have been spotted from the spot of the foul, which would have still resulted in a first down for Mizzou down the field?  So saying that ku committed a foul resulting in the offsetting penalties actually screwed MU?

Yep but they called unnecessary roughness which isn't a spot foul so Mizzou was screwed either way.

Ah, I see.  Watching the replay, though, even an unnecessary roughness call is questionable.  Should have been a block in the back and nothing more.
