2)Friday afternoon. Most people will not be working.
3)Most important..CBS national TV. Better TV coverage than any other lower-tier bowl

Are there good golf courses in El Paso?  Is it a cheap flight?  Will there be tons of Mexican labor to clean my clubs?

The Alamo  Bowl seems to think it's between us and TT.

The winner of the Big 12 Championship will go to the Fiesta Bowl (Nebraska or Texas assuming the Longhorns defeat Texas A&M), while the runner-up is likely for the AT&T Cotton Bowl. The Gator and Holiday bowls will likely select Oklahoma and Texas A&M giving the Alamo Bowl a potenial choice of Texas Tech (7-5) or Kansas State (7-5) as well as Oklahoma State (6-5) if they win their final game against Oklahoma. If the Gator Bowl does not select a Big 12 team this year (and instead opts to take a 11-1 West Virginia), the Alamo Bowl could also gain access to Texas A&M or the Big 12 Championship runner-up.
