I see ku coming out uber fired up in this one. Our offense starts very slow, thier dline gets a lot of pressure, maybe not sacks but pressure early on.

ku strikes first with a short field set up by a good murph return because we miss figures and watts badly.

they are able to run the ball efficiently, our ends crash down and meier keeps it around them.

they hit a couple of dink and dunk passes that go for more yds because we are not tackling well.

We get behind by 2 scores before we show some life on offense but our d is tired from being on the field so long yet again.

You have no idea what you're talking about.  If we managed without Watts against tx what makes you think we can't manage without him against the squaks.  Is it because of their far superior talent?  Figures will play, don't know how much but he'll play.

I think that sooner or later not having him is going to cost us a big play.  Either that or he is supremely over rated (which I do not believe).

since we have not had Watts it hasn't cost us.  so either we've been extremely lucky, or he isn't that much better than erker who took his place.

I tend to think that we've been lucky that we haven't given up more big plays.

A defense isn't built around one guy. You might be able to argue that with an offense. But you cannot with a defense. We have missed Watts and that does show. That is why some of our defensive production has gone down. But we still beat Texas without him. Texas offense scares me much more than ku's. Also, we still have all of our linebackers, Jackson, Campbell and Echols. And those are the guys that we need more out of to stop the run (something which ku tends to do more). We will be fine. As long as we don't come in with huge heads (and it doesn't seem like this will happen) then we will be fine.

I'm thinking more that we have missed him on special teams coverage and have been lucky to not give up a big return.

I'm tired of the scout.com posters. We all get rejected from scout for being "negative" or being too "mean" and yet you guys all flock over here. Yes ku can beat us, but they won't.

ku will be able to run on us.  our best bet is to get a lead early, like we did against ut, and get them to pass.

once they start passing, campbell and jackson will take over.

Stunner got banned for being too negative. All of the Cinci posters got banned also. I was saying that when we were at first skeptical the scout &@#%s came down on us. And that was my fourth Scout account. Your arguments just don't make any &@#%ing crap. If you made any logical points then I wouldn't care but all you say is we are out with Watts, that will hurt us. We managed to win two games without Watts. One against #4 ranked TEXAS! Just give me a decent point as to why we will lose and I will get off of your back.

Wow..you're more negative than me..

I think we trail at some point....but win a close one by outscoring them in the 4th quarter.

It is my personal opinion that we have been lucky that the watts loss has not hurt us/cost us a game.

It is my personal opinion that Watts was all big 12 material before getting hurt.

It is my personal opinion that when a team loses it's leader, and an all big 12 performer there is usually a drop off  that might cost said team a game or two.

It is my personal opinion that Watt's back up not being as experienced or as talented will give up a big play or two say a td, or a play that leads to a fg.

I ran into a couple of offensive linemen today and had a chance to ask the question, "so... you guys ready for tomorrow?"  He paused, grinned, nodded his head and said, "oh ya... we're ready."  Cats win by 20.

Erker played by far his best game as a Cat last Saturday.

The guy in the cube next to me has built his own power ranking program over the last several years, and it seems pretty good.  It gives us a 78% chance of winning.  So there you go.

    The very best.
I REALLY like the matchup of their DE's vs our OT's.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.
