Allow me to translate to save everyone else the trouble of reading this one: Dan Hawkins said, "Waaaaah!  Texas, Oklahoma, A&M, and Nebraska have more money than Colorado does."

OSU, KSU, ku, Nebraska, MU and probably everyone else in the Big 12 have more money then CU does.

CU athletics just had to borrow $8 million from the school to stay afloat . . . meanwhile KSU athletics was $8.6 million in the black (not throwing in capital improvement dollars to inflate that number like a certain other Kansas school does).

Stoops recently said that the Big XII should do away with the conference championship game and just name a regular season champ similar to the Pac 10 and Big 10...while I think Stoops is an arrogant a$$, he has some points and there is no way the North can stay competitive with the south in booster $ and facilities.

The closest north school to the south as far as the arms race is concerned is kNebraska and they are behind UT, OU and A&M....OSU also gives the corn a run for their money

All of the Big 12 North School's are in the process of leaving CU in the dust in terms of the arms race.

Thats like saying you're thinner than Nicole Richie.......No one in the north comes close to the big 3 in the south.

No . . . you just don't get it.

The rest of the North is blowing CU away to the tune of tens of millions of dollars, it's not at the South's level, but it's getting close . . . and no I can't factor in CU's suites, because that's been proven again to be an  unmitigated failure, while NU, KSU, ku and MU have people on waiting lists for suites and club seats.

You apparently really don't have a clue.

I know the current situation of the CU AD, the 3 year old suites, the facilites., ect and it is very bad for a DI program. But considering the hole that the previous staff (coaches, athletic dept, admin) had dug for the university, there are signs of (some) progress. But they have finalized funding for a long overdue indoor practice "facility," upgrades to the FB locker rooms, weight rooms and basketball offices, ect that will close the huge gap with the rest of the north, sans kNU.

If you think that the North is "getting close" to facilities and $$ in the south, you also probably believe that Snyder was "just this close" to winning a national championship......

ku is building a new $31 million dollar football center right now.

MU just did a $17.5 million dollar expansion of their football center.

Clearly there's NU.

KSU just did a $7 million dollar expansion of its football complex, installed new field turf in the indoor facility, put in new videoboards and scoreboards, and will break ground on additional skyboxes, club seats and such in the next 18 months, and will do several other football related improvements as well including totaling refurbishing the lower seating bowl of the stadium before next season.

It's not as much as the South has done, but to say the North schools haven't or won't shortly be doing  projects of major significance is being clueless.

I never said that the North hasnt/isnt in the process of significant upgrades....I was comparing the spending of the north schools to the money pits in the south -which may or may not be a fair comparision-......Im simply saying that its not even ground.

Texas Tech is in the process of expanding (about 8,000 + seats) and renovating Jones staduim to the tune of $84 million.

OSU is completing a $50 million pracitice facility on top of a $120 million renovation of Boone Pickens stadium, courtesy of a loony oil tycoon with the same name.

I could go on, but just these two schools have proven my point.....I hope you see where I'm coming from. Im not trying to downplay what the north schools are doing, but its going to be a never ending game of catch up, because the upgrades that the ku's, Mizzou's ect are doing right now were in place to be on par with the south....5 years ago.

I think I just figured out who you really are.

How's Netpuffs lately??

Plus, you've forgotten to mention that outside of Texas and OSU, the south schools, along with NU are going into substantial debt to buy all of this stuff . . . oh yeah and CU as well.

OSU had to do something because Lewis Field was a junk heap.   While it's impressive, you have to consider that place was a rust bucket in dire need of a total overhaul.

Plus, I've seen the Bright Complex, I've seen Moncrief-Neuhaus at Texas, I've seen the Switzer Center, and what ku and MU is doing is not 5 years behind them at all.   In fact the Vanier Complex at KSU isn't that far behind now, and NU certainly isn't.

The only school really falling behind is . . . CU.

It isnt that hard to figure out "who I am"....I use the same name on netbuffs. Im guessing you were a criminal justice or forensics major at the "stanford of the midwest" KSU.....Wouldnt the fact that the facilities @ OU and UT are compelted automatically put them ahead of the in progress projects at the north schools - I could be wrong??

CU isnt falling behind....CU is way behind, at least that much we agree on.

This stuff all goes in cycles, remeber when the Big XII was formed the three top schools were NU, KSU, and CU.  In a few more years well be hearing how the North has caught up with the South and then a few years after that well being hearing how the North is far supperior to the South and then the whole cycle will start over again.

Typical Tampon soiling buff fan.   I've never seen you on Netpuffs, but you sound just like another netpuff regular.

The North schools by and large (except CU) had indoor practice facilities long before the South schools.   Nebraska only did what they did because that have a massive inferiority complex and think buildings win games.   They could've overhauled certain areas of what they already had and stayed right with the South pretty much.  I don't see what the difference is between their old 30,000 sqfoot weightroom and their new 40,000 sq foot weightroom except now there's more room between equipment.  Otherwise it's the same place.

OU did a lot, but what was it??  Well they added on to their stadium and renovated the rest of an aging stadium of which some parts had been pretty much untouched for decades . . . some areas underneath the stadium had dirt floors for crying out loud.  Yes, it's nice . . . but as stated its cyclical and in many cases driven by the fact that the stuff is old and needs tons of work.    Sure their new indoor practice facility is nice, but not much different then the ones already in place at NU, MU or KSU.    Texas has spent and will spend a ton of money renovating an old stadium.  The next endzone project at Texas is because that endzone area is old, falling apart and a dump.

Just because a school spends a ton of money, doesn't mean its all going into player facilities.  Huge chunks of it are to ensure their stadiums don't come tumbling to the ground.

..."Typical Tampon soiling buff fan" I'd be offened if I werent so confused.....I hope I never get to the point to where Im considered a "regular on a message board," but to each their own.

The stadium upgrades already completed by the south sound alot like what the north schools are trying to acomplish right now.... Memorial Stadium in lawrence needs any and all upgrades they can get, Mizzou lets fans sit on a grassy knoll.....But again, I agree CU is light years behind.

And I hope that the balance of power in the Big XII is cyclical and the north does rise again...The best thing to happen to the probation bound SWC texas schools was the day the Big 8 let them join.
