but if i was projecting a date for it i would say may 12th.

I'd guess the same.  Would be a good question for Floyd.

ok. just went and executed plan to perfection. went a little renegade on the drink though. mountain dew. don't ask. had a week moment and simply just messed up. hadn't had it in years, blah, blah, blah. did also get hooters brand hot sauce and then three of the 99 cent wendys spicy nuggets. they asked me if i wanted sauce and it kind of caught me off guard cause i already had my sauce. anyway i said sure and then was offered four different kinds of sauces. bbq, honey mustard, ranch and i think blue cheese. they all sounded gross so i ended up eventually declining. five nuggets to a pak. i tasted one before tossing the rest in a warmed up bowl of the hooters sauce. i actually thought it was somewhat spicy. i mean not hot or anything but decent. the chicken is kind of spongy chicken if you know what i mean. all in all i would say that if you are on a budget or really like spongy chicken then this is a pretty good deal. i will probably not do this again. thoughts/suggestions for dinner?

also can't wait for the nutpak. also, do you think i could bring some hot sauce and a bowl and then toss the nuts in the sauce or would this be frowned upon.

From what I saw, this would be just fine.  It's a very informal dinner.  You may want to bring a considerable amount of bowls and sauce though.  The Scott Citians tend to observe outsiders and their actions before being very open and warm and wanting to interact.  For example, there was a noticeable tension when they discovered Jeff was black AND not a KSU player, but eventually they got over it and were excited to have a new kind of person in their town.  I'd expect some curious looks as you work the sauce bowl for a while before cas or somebody breaks the ice and they all want some of that action.

JFC, Wendys is not a small town establishment like Pizza Hut.  Congrats to Scott City and cas/bigdavefreeman.

I know.  One day I will go to the nut fry, and the Scott City Wendy's.

Possible National KatPak Convention 2010 destination?

Heck yay! Western Kansas KatPak'rs unite! Total EMAW!

sounds like jeff must have been some sort of a coach.  hope he can keep the 'cruits coming in when hill gets hired away to the east coast (hill actually brings in a lot of bball recruits, not martin).

had them.

not very hot/spicy. a little disappointed all in all. but for 99 cents it's not a bad little snack.

pm Dirty Sanchez this post because apparently he only reads every other post in a thread or something.

From being a nutfry attender from years past, the best course of action is not to use any sauce on the nuts (they have a certain type of hot sauce that is designated for nuts). However, this is simply a IMO. I will say that the baked beans and cheesy potatoes are excellent. The sauce from your beans creates a very nice sauce for you.

And yes. The average age of the people at the fry is around 40 to 50 and for the most part they are your typical EMAW loving, mildly racist group. So that always creates a interesting vibe whenever there are black players or patrons there.

I couldn't be more excited for a Scott City Nutpak.

I am a bit disappointed that it is apparently on a week night.  It's just under 7 hours drive from JoCo.

Same from Omaha.  But, it's just a hair under two hours from my home now.

If this thing were on the weekend, you could imagine that we could take this thing to the next level, with a chartered bus and hotel arrangements....maybe have the bus stop off in Topeka, Manhattan, Salina, etc to pick up EMAW? :dunno:

There is NO way it will be moved to a weekend.  Focus on making that wednesday work.  If it seems too distant for one night of pak'n, we could take a few days off and hit the entire western kansas circuit.  The Dodge and Garden events are always that same week.

i know that they always golf at southwind or dunes for the gc catbacker.

but the first stop on the trip is scott city for the entire catbacker tour. so it really is the one to set the tone.

If the camper thing doesnt work out, I could probably score the group some cheap places to stay.  I would be in,  Western Kansas
