That's not quite what happened.  I didn't see anyone intentionally trying to come up short of the goal line on those last couple of plays.  Reminds me of Bobby Bowden a few years back who after winning by many TDs and scoring the last one very late said something to the effect of, "It's my job to score as many points as I can. It's the other team's job to find a way to stop me and it's not my fault if they cannot."

Hmm, I thought it was Bowden but I'll defer to you guys on this one.  That said I wouldn't be at all surprised if Leach, Bowden, and Spurrier had all said something similar at some point.

It was Leach. He earned a lot of respect from me that day. Took a ton of heat from the media and basically said "I don't give a f*ck what you think, I do what I want."

I watched the broadcast and before Snodgrass fieldgoal, when Hawkins called timeout.  Ron had a little smirk and a glare headed straight towards Hawkins.  I would not be surprised if that isn't why the ball was still being pushed downfield at the end.  Not to mention the attempts to run it in and not just hold it.

Hmm, I thought it was Bowden but I'll defer to you guys on this one.  That said I wouldn't be at all surprised if Leach, Bowden, and Spurrier had all said something similar at some point.

It was Bowden that said that originally way back against some hapless ACC team (Duke I think it was).

Leach has also said it, and was referring to a hapless Nebraska team.   Nebraska fans were quick to point out that Mike Leach had no class.

Bowden had a great quote when he was asked about Spurrier whining about late hits on the QB.  It may have been when Grossman was there.  Anyway, FSU was making a habit out of absolutely destroying Spurrier's QBs.  In response, Bowden just says, "He calls them 'late hits.'  I call them 'sacks.'"
