Oporum sucks bro. Slow as pond water.
Yeah well you may be fast but Opurum can knock ya over!

Seriously, if the coaches hadn't been snorting the highest quality of cocaine, they would have realized that he could have been a more athletic Brandon McAnderson. Jake Sharp up the middle was completely useless, and yet we kept doing it anyway. Hell, Rell Lewis worked better up the middle than Jake Sharp.
As for the Mangino thing, yeah he may be one of the best coaches in Kansas history. However, that's not saying much. 23-41 in B12 play, especially when you consider how weak the Big 12 was this year and how weak the North has been since...ever...that's not gonna cut it. I appreciate the big man for what he did, which was make us a more attractive job than Baylor and Iowa State and put us in position to compete with KSU, MU, zombie A&M, OSU, CU, and zombie NU. However, he couldn't even scratch UT minus the Freeman Johns clusterf*ck (still angry

) and he never once got close to touching OU...not even in their worst year since the John Blake days. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for more than that after 8 years, even if the first 2 or so were due to the Allen Hangover Effect.
This isn't firing a 9-3 Frank Solich. This is firing a coach who regressed for two straight years and utterly faceplanted in one of the Big 12's worst years in its history. This is firing a coach who has not adequately handled the process of dealing with his coordinators and has been known to be overly loyal to "his" players and keep more talented players in the doghouse because of some unintelligible slight. It's also firing a coach that threw out Todd Reesing into the fire with a (terribly) concealed groin injury, even when he was an active detriment to our team. Even if you take out the whole PR disaster that is the player abuse saga, it's obvious that Mangino has hit his plateau in Lawrence and his methods will not get us better than 7-5 or 6-6 every year, the occasional star-aligning 12-1 or 9-3 record aside. I know that our history isn't much better than KSU's pre-Snyder, but I'll be damned if I settle for 7-5 and 6-6 every year. If I wanted that, I'd punt Lew to the curb, take over the AD job and hire Al Groh.
And yeah, I might go to KSU for grad school. Then again, I might pull a Chris Harper and go to Oregon. Fitz keeps calling me about it, can somebody tell him that just because I'm built like an o-lineman it doesn't mean I am one? TIA
