I find the right mixture of watching old K-State football games on tape/DVD helps. Along with a dose of K-State basketball. Toss in some blow jobs and booze and your set. Heck, take out the K-State stuff and you're fine.

they do some espnu games.  They did a UT game a while back.  wish they could go to alaska or something.  would be hilarious.

Use the NFL to carry you through to College basketball season (like fatty said, starts in January) Then use arena football if you have to (only if you REALLY need to) to get you from College BB till mid summer. At that point you're close enough to the next football season.

I'm pretty sure NBA regular season is staged, like pro-wrestling. 

If intensity is important to your basketball watching experience, the NBA is an odd choice.  NBA regular season is a black hole of intensity.  Pretty sure 90% of the players are  :BigToke: during the games

NFL.  There are so many former Kansas State players in the NFL it's like watching Cats football except its on a Sunday.
