It was not uncommon in those days to schedule small local colleges or even high schools.  The first year my high school had football (1894) we had NU on the schedule (but never actually played).  Imagine that nowadays: a 1-7ish high school program vs a good BCS school.  That point record by Tennessee would be in serious jeopardy.

In 1897 the lone KSU win was a 4-0 victory over Chapman HS ... Chapman managed a tie in the rematch.  KSU's lone win in 1898 was posted against Junction City HS, Chapman HS managed two ties.  It was a vastly different game then.

Weiser offered Jim Leavitt, but he didn't want to follow Snyder and said NO. His plan is to watch Prince fail and *then* take the job once expectations have been lowered.
