The Flyers are 2-1 with wins over Creighton and Georgia Tech at the O'Reilly Auto Parts Puerto Rico Tip-Off and a loss to Villanova at the O'Reilly Auto Parts Puerto Rico Tip-Off and return 4 starters from a squad that posted a 27-8 overall record, including an 11-5 mark in league play, in 2008-09. The Flyers are projected to win the A-10 and make a return trip to the NCAA Tournament.

The Flyers are lead by G/F Chris Johnson, F Chris Wright and F Luke Fabrizius. Johnson is averaging 17 points/game (leads the team), 9 rebounds/game (leads the team) and 1 assist/game. Johnson was rolling to a breakout season a year ago when a calf injury sidelined him on February 14 and hampered him for the rest of the season. Wright averages 16 points/game and 5 rebounds/game. Wright in a dunking machine. You can find videos of his dunks on YouTube and some of his work was featured on SportsCenter's Top 10 plays on three different occasions a year ago. Fabrizius averages 12 points/game and 3 rebounds/game. He knocked down 5 3's in 8 minutes and had 17 points in a win over Duquesne a year ago. G London Warren leads the team in assists with 5 assists/game. Warren isn't considered a major offensive threat, he was brought in last season to replace PG Rob Lowery who was lost due to injury, but is a steady point guard who is used mainly for his assist/turnover ratio. He did spend the offseason working on his 3 point shooting but hasn't made one yet this season. That's just another aspect of his game that the Cats will have to make sure that they don't get burned by.

As I said earlier, the Flyers are yet another great team on KSU's non conference schedule that needs to be taken seriously. They have the best player in the conference (Wright), a deep bench and a coach (Brian Gregory) that knows how to get the most out of his players. A win in a game like this would look very good on KSU's resume come March (especially since the Cats have already let some opportunities slip by this season).

Some bonus Flyers trivia: What famous sports journalist attended the University of Dayton?
