Bottom line- this isn't an issue unless Lew wants it to be an issue.  It could have all been just as easily swept under the rug.  This is Lew's "Night of the Long Knives."

Of course it's obvious.  But look at it in context compared to how ADBK handled last season.  Here's Lew, patiently waiting for Mangino to self-destruct, then as soon as ku puts together a magnificent 5-game losing streak, there's Lew with the axe.  A year prior, our idiot AD handed out millions of $$$$$ to a coach he was going to fire three months later.  Brilliant athletic directing on the part of Lew, if you ask me.*

*depending on who Lew can get to take over that disaster and play second fiddle to Massa Seff.

I don't blame him.  Bobby Knights aren't tolerable these days.

I'm happy because Lew has demolished the only successful FB program he's ever managed.

he did a pretty good job with Wichita State's program. They are undefeated for years now.

Re: per LJW, this is over quite a bit of money and will take a

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1.  The LJW published a termination without cause clause from Mangino's contract which is considerably different than what the article claims.  Where did the termination without cause clause they published earlier in the week come from?

2.  Someone in the Athletic Department signed on contract on behalf of the university that pays the man more if we fire him than if he coaches?

3.  Why did the person from the athletic department request anonimity if what he/she was doing wasn't shady?

4.  Why can't the LJW figure out how to post .pdfs links that actually work.

If the LJW article is correct and the buyout is really his fully salary plus $300,000 per year it explains why this cluster **** is still going on.

But if his buyout clause really pays him full salary plus 300k a year for the remainder of the term I have less respect for the athletic department this morning than I did last night.  And to think we made fun of K-State for their ridiculous contract with Ron Prince.  A six million dollar buy out clause for a coach with one winning conference record . . .GMAFB!
