IF we get our 7th win, we still won't be guaranteed a bowl, because isn't it technically only our "6th" win?  :ohno:

no.  7 wins pretty much guarantees at least 2nd in the north.  there are plenty of big 12 bowl tie-ins.

Yeah there won't be any North teams besides Nubb who looks more deserving than us, as we will likely finish above CU,uk,mu,and isu.

Six wins are required but does not guarantee a bowl.  I think ku got 6 wins a few years back and didn't go.

7 wins and we bowl, no doubt.  Bowls love K-State, and even moreso this year.  Bill gets this team to a bowl, we'll send tons of fans, especially if its in Texas.  Heck, if the Texas/Sun/Independence Bowls could get the NCAA to let us in with 6, we'd be in.

Has there ever been a team that didn't get in a bowl game with 7 wins?

I think the 2 IAA games become meaningless after the 7th win.

7 wins and we finish 5th-6th in the Big 12.....There are 9 bowl tie-ins. Depending on what ku and MU do to finish out and become eligible...we'd be higher on the pecking order if we beat Missouri tommorrow.

Do your really think the Sun Bowl or the Yankee Bowl would pass us up and we'd get snubbed? lmao noo way.  I'm thinking the Gator, Independence, or Insight would be pulling hard to get us.

How bout we just win the whole friggin' thing and go to the BCS?

The thought just crossed my mind, that if we win out and go to the fiesta bowl, texas will likely still be in the bcs, which would give the 6 win sqwuaks less of a chance of getting looked over.

But then we'd be in the fiesta bowl :woohoo: :ksu:

lol. that would be quite the condrunum the "beaks" would find themselves in no?
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

so you're saying ku is going to get their 6th win? They'd better do it tommorrow.

It could be tomorrow it could be in farmegeddon jr.? I think they stumble upon a lucky win in one of those games. If they do and Iowa state also gets to 6, i hope to god the clones' don't get snubbed

The clones are a good story this season.  They would get taken well above ku who is a train wreck of a program right now.

Granted these things change basically on a daily basis, ESPN has us pegged in the Sub Bowl against Stanford.

there should be some rule that says if you lose 6 straight games..then qualify with a 6th win on the 7th game...that you get an auto-snub.

Dudes, KSU gets a bowl game if it gets another win.  KSU will preferred in the pecking order to some due to the ability to find fans willing to travel and put their butts in seats.  It could actually lead to KSU getting a "better" game than what it probably deserves.

That is how the game works in the Big 12 and how it does its bowl tie-ins.  I don't understand the consternation/concern over this issue.

That would be really pathetic to claim yourselves as a bowl team witha six game losing streak in the middle of your schedule.. and 2-6 in conference shouldn't allow for bowl eligibility imo

I agree.  IMO, if a team finishes .500, they should also have to be .500 in league games.  The only way a team under .500 in the league may go is if they win 7 or more games.  All this still counting only one 1-AA win toward bowl elgibility.

forget .500, they're not gettin to .300, simply pathetic. if they do go to a bowl i hope they're not proud of themselves :flush:
