Snyder is thinking:

A.) Prince was a failure on every level, and he better make sure K-State "keeps it in the family" this time OR
B.) Prince was a failure on every level, and he better make sure K-State "goes big time" this time.

I suspect it's option A, which pretty much sucks, but the positive in this is that Currie doesn't strike me as the sort of guy who would just sign off on that crap either.  Heck, even the Wefald/Weiser/Krause band of clowns wanted to put their own stamp on things last time ... they were just inept about doing so.

While I don't completely disagree with you, comparing Kansas State to Michigan and Nebraska isn't a very good one. Almost regardless of who the coach is, Michigan will always attract talented assistants and very good recruiting classes simply because they're Michigan. Nebraska isn't Michigan, but they're not K-State either. The fact is, we can hire a better coach coming off 3,4,or 5 years of success than we could if we tried hiring from the bottom of the Big 12 and asking someone to pull off something "snyderesque". We messed up with Prince, but we have a rare opportunity to do it again. We have a wealth of talented assistants that only Snyder could assemble who most could be considered candidates after Snyder leaves. That is NOT something we had after Snyder the first time he retired or especially after Prince. Which if we do hire in house will maintain some recruiting ties and Off./Def. schemes. There are a lot of examples of good coaches leaving and a program never recovering, or at least taking a while to. The idea is not retarded and is the next best option to hiring a Patterson or Leavitt. I mean, who else could do what he is doing and do what he is about to do besides Snyder?

And the main concern I raised in my column last November still remains: What is K-State's long-term plan once Snyder re-retires? That aside, there's no denying that for a fan base that was so divided last year and a school that endured so much embarrassment last summer over its financial indiscretions, Snyder has provided the perfect shot in the arm.

Oh yeah. We said repeatedly that we had no doubt Snyder would win while he was here, but that our concern lay beyond that.

But nooooooo, that meant we hated Bill Snyder, K-State, and babies.

 

I especially love looking back on all the "HOW DARE YOU QUESTION OUR ADMINS" now that all the secret contracts and whatnot came out.

I'm assuming this all went down on kstatefans with catfan28 and the like? 

Naturally. I got banned from the site I resuscitated because I was "too negative" about Wefald and Krause last summer/fall before all the stuff went down. Not gonna lie: I did enjoy going back there (incognito of course) after everything came out about Krausefald and reading all the "well well well, kougar was right!" posts.

Naturally, I never got one of those from catfan28.  

Did you ever post with your sock? The only reason I go to that site any more is Felix and 3holepunch. Every now and then, riling up JesusLives is great entertainment.

Believe it or not, the only sock I ever had was "JoeLeonard," and that was just to screw with people on the basketball board last season. I used someone else's actual account to read the football board, and smile as the post-kougar board inactivity commenced.

But it got so inactive that I stopped even going over there to read. I think Felix and threeholepunch should follow suit.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you quicker.   Not speaking to anyone in particular but some of us work for a living and don't have our wives supporting us so we can be an administrator on a sports forum.  But I am sure the administrator gets paid exactly what he is worth.   My obsession with you is the same as my obsession with my rear end after I take a dump.  I want to wipe it and flush it as soon as possible.  This banter between us is just fun.  I thought we agreed to disagree.  You haven't said much against Bill since we started winning, so instead of letting you forget how you feel about Bill I like to remind you every once in awhile.  Don't let me bother you or your merry band of dipcraps.  But don't act like you are in love with Bill Snyder and KSU just because we are winning.  (Am I about to get banned?)
