I was waiting to pick up tickets on the East side of the stadium on Saturday.  Saw a group of uk students and K-State students jawing with each other.

Picked it up at this point:  uk guy says something like this, "get a legit school with an academic ranking".  I was thinking, academic smack?!?! what a tool shed.  Then the K-State kid yelled something back like "get your a-hole checked".  Then a fellow bystander called all the uk kids "Hill Billies".

It was hilarious.  My buddies and I had a good laugh

Always keep in mind the previous ku chancellor actually mandated specific programs to improve ku's academic ranking in the college ranking guides.   The harder they tried, the worse their rankings got.

I wonder when Ben will chime in talking about his buddy who called our program cookie cutter.

archmike- are you a current student? I graduated '08.

uk people crack me up. They are always saying something like that. Talking about progressing society in the same sentence using bigoted hate speech. I was, surprised the "classy" didn't make it in there.

    The very best.
has anyone tried to conversate w/an architecture student? It's pretty much impossible because they are unequivocally better than you in every way.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

it's tough, because they don't have free time, except when they're clowning around with a frisbee during a "studio" "break".

The architects you want to steer clear of are the ones that cross their legs like women and the guys whom use alot of grand hand guestures.
Studio was a great place to drink beer, play computer games and bring your girlfriend on a late evening (never bring her when the sun is out as she might be able to retrace her steps to find you later).
Studio was also a great alibi to ditch said girlfriend to go out for drinks in the Ville with other architectural EMAWs.  At the time Seaton was perfect in that the halls were so confusing to navigate that there is no way she could find your studio and "pop in", thus avoiding the awkward confrontation that you are actually out grabbing at some drunk sorrority girls at Luckys bragging about your late night EMAW endurance. :peek:

Pure awesomeness oozes out of Seaton Hall.

Just look at the rankings for all of the Arch. programs:

Academic programs in the K-State College of Architecture, Planning and Design were ranked as follows in the 2009 nation-wide survey of leading firms across the United States:

bachelor of interior architecture/design programs - first;
master of interior architecture/design programs - second;
bachelor of landscape architecture program - second;
master of landscape architecture program - eighth; and
master of architecture program - eleventh.

You have to work for a firm that does airport design.  But yes you can design airports.

Considering how awesomely elite the Arch. program is, it's a wonder our University doesn't milk more free consulting work from it.  Like, our athletic facilities, for instance.

I'm sure somebody from the Seaton thinktank could conjure up some cool designs.  Instead of retaining the drunkard primate that designed the Vanier expansion, maybe keep that sh*t inhouse.  Just see what you get.
