I've been using the TAR 21 silenced.  Better than SCAR IMO, more ammo, way better close up.

Finished the single player part last night.  Pretty cool but ridiculously short.

What difficulty? I finished on hardened in about 7 hours. Nothing ridiculous about that. It's fairly standard if the game has a good multiplayer option. The only recent game I consider ridiculously short was Halo ODST. I beat that crap in 3 hours.

Going to pick that up tonight for the midnight release. Kinda nice that it's my weekend when it comes out, so plenty of time to get into it.

I never played MW1, and I was slow through the pit, so I started on Regular.  I think it took me maybe 4-5 hours total.  I'm going to go back through on Hardened though -- I only found 2 of the intel items on the first run through.

I just got the achievement for running the pit in under 30 seconds. Took about 10-15 run-throughs. Only got 3-4 intel items my first time through. way too much stuff is going on for me to look for them.

Bah, I had been holding off on purchasing this game but I'm going to be stuck in Central Illinois all week for work. I've decided to bring my 360 and buy the game before I leave tomorrow. This should make the nights in Decatur IL go by quicker....

Just get Batman.

Batman won't give me the satisfaction of medieval assassinry, so, no.

And how much will MW2 blow my mind if I never played the original MW? I imagine a lot. I'll be running around looking for WWII weapons and getting shredded in the process, lol.

There is nothing satisfying about chainmail.

There's alot of stuff going on in MW2, so mind will be blown. I mean, you can either go with your class with the .50 caliber Barrett sniper rifle with a thermal scope or you can go assault with your SCAR-H with ACOG Scope and heart beat sensor. Maybe your side arm should be a fully automatic AA12 shotgun? Not to mention killstreak, perks, pro perks, deathstreaks, titles, emblems, challenges, etc. LOTS of stuff going on.

Loving this game.  Went 51-5 Friday on a game of domination.  One of my buddies in our party used a nuke last night on a domination game in quarry.  We were down in the game too. Hilarious.

back to back nukes?  the game ends when you call one, let alone two.
and you don't get anything for prestige other than a different medal next to your name and the loss of all your guns/weapons/perks/attachments.

    The very best.
so, just saw this game is on steam for download. love steam because it's really easy to buy a game. but, is it worth 50 bucks? i want to have some pc fun over winter break. bioshock was really good entertaino.

i mean, bioshock was kind of unique. i laughed during alot of the cut-scene's n stuff. not sure an "army" type game would be fun.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Don't buy this game.  Doing so will let other developers think PC gamers will accept inferior products.

Ok, back to CS 1.6

The nuke is a great tool.  My group plays Domination.  If we're down it has come in handy when our guy sets off the nuke when victory is out of reach. Really pisses the other team off.  Screams of "Camper!" are heard throughout the lobby.  I have heard prestige will give you an extra slot for custom classes but I hardly think it's worth it. I will probably not prestige for a year or so.

Found this on a forum. Everything I've heard from people, you unlock the extra create a class at lvl 4 after you prestige, along with some extra stuff-

Quote
Hello! I registered for this post, after seeing a couple of threads about what happens when you prestige. Most of them were correct, but also missing some vital information. The callsign/emblem thread was so helpful, so I thought I'd be a little helpful too.

I prestiged yesterday and am at level 34 now, and just want to confirm everything here is correct, except there are parts that no one has mentioned. Here's the exact run down:

What you keep:
Titles unlocked
Emblems unlocked
Accolades count
Leaderboard standings

What you do NOT keep:
Any guns, attachments and equipment unlocked
Any Perks unlocked
Any challenges unlocked
Killstreaks unlocked

What you get in addition:
An extra class (unlocked at level 4 with the other classes)
A new Title and Emblem for the prestige (NOT unlocked at level 1, they're at level 2 or 3 or something)
NEW Prestige challenges in addition to the standard list of challenges (unlocked when you first unlock the other challenges)
NEW Gun challenges (in addition to the standard challenges)

I want to give a bit more info on the new challenges. I'm at work now, so I don't have the list with me, but it's pretty standard stuff, kill 20 people that are flashed by stun grenades, 20 people that are killed with flash grenades, get X amount of semtex kills, etc. The Gun challenges appear under the Gun Mastery challenge, and are also standard fare, but with much larger numbers. There's two extra challenges for each weapon, the Veteran (Kills), and Master (Headshot) challenges. The only difference between these and the regular challenges is the amount of kills/headshots is much, much larger. Like the Veteran I challenge starts at 500 kills for 10,000XP. I can only imagine how far up it goes, maybe there's a Veteran V for 10,000 kills or something. Also, the reward for all of these challenges is a Title or Emblem, I'm betting these are where the really rare Titles and Emblems will be.

I don't really remember if there's additional challenges for things like claymores or launchers, but I kind of think there are. Again, I'm at work so I can't check.

The real skinny on the prestige challenges is that you get around double the XP for using a gun. You still get the regular "Get 750 kills with this gun" challenge XP, but you also get the Prestige challenge XP as well. It should make leveling through the prestige levels a bit faster.

So far, I've also seen a few other sort of standard titles and emblems get unlocked as you proceed through the ranks. For instance, I got a "Sarge" with a beret on it, which I'm guessing I got when I hit the Sergeant ranks. Nothing really nutty though.

One final note, you still keep the default classes when you prestige, the new custom class doesn't replace one when you prestige. If you are a a first prestige you'll have all 5 default classes, and 6 custom classes for 11 classes in total.

Edit: I have to stress that all this is just based on the first prestige. I can't tell you if you get 10 extra custom slots for a total of 15 (assuming there's 10 prestige levels) or that there won't be additional challenge categories unlocked by later prestiges. But if you have any questions I'll try my best to answer them.
