the BIGXII COY will really depend on how Iowa State does as much as our team as well. For National COY pretty much no less than a win in a bowl game, Bank on it if we somehow get the chance to beat on the horns in the CTR.

If we get to 7-5, I don't see how he doesn't win Big XII COY. If somehow we got to 8-4 and win the North, he would get strong consideration for national COY but not sure if he would win it.

As a general rule, you need to get your team into the top 25 in order to be a candidate for national COY or make a jump from top 25 to national title contention. As for winning conference COY, the Cats would have to make the title game.

If we win the North he's big 12 coach of the year.  Don't think he gets it with anything less then that.  In order to win the North we'll have to go at least 5-3 in the league which means winning all of our home games or upsetting NU in Lincoln.

but, but, but, if we go 6-2 and never beat a ranked opponent and all the opponents we beat are <0.500 in conf.  Will that mean we're a powerhouse or just a sucky team that was the best of sucky teams?

He would have to win the North for Big 12 COY.  It would also require TX not going undefeated.  You are probably not going to see a guy playing for a National Championship with an undefeated team not get his conference COY.

Winning the Big 12 would get him some looks for National COY.

Ummm, have to agree.  If this were a ku board, I'd begin this post with "Half of you retards....".  Given this is a K-State board, I'll say "Half of the posters on this board were, less than 10 days ago, complaining about our QB, coach, team, OL, DL, etc."

We need to beat someone really good to even begin that discussion, that prospect is almost 2 weeks away (OU game). 

I'll go further.  Maybe, just MAYBE you want to acclimate yourself to the prospect of the 'Cats getting beaten by Colorado, and ku upsetting OU at home.  Every sane person's skin CRAWLS at that prospect, but the 'Cats are so inconsistent that you need to entertain the prospect.
