loX, are you a cat fan?
LOL no...Lox is your typical ku fan, lives in Topeka but never set foot in a ku classroom.

Just like old times...clams getting his ducks in a row for the ban....

I wouldn't say I'm a fan of any college. I watched the ku championship game...guess that makes me a fanboy. btw, since when is attending a college a prerequisite for being a fan of any college? That's a pretty elitist attitude for someone so accustomed to fail.  :nono:

you used to talk ku smack, i guess i just figured you were a fan since you were sucking their teet 5 years ago before you stalked me over here.

and no, attending a college is not a prereq for being a fan of said college.  no one said it was.  and i bet you're a huge yankee's fan, new england patriots fan, and whatever other bandwagon you can ride on fan as well.  like most ku fans, you didn't go there, but it sure is fun to pick a winner to root for huh?!   :woohoo:

You confuse me with iokain. I talked crap only to Spuddy at clanv regarding ku v Missouri. I used to watch chiefs games, and I always pick the chiefs when I play madden.  :D  I don't know if you thought of this or not, but it's kinda funny that the guy whom sold out PC gaming to mainstream console games is preaching to me about riding the bandwagon... Also not sure if you noticed that you called ku a bunch of winners in a round about way...

Also, when you have an obvious animosity towards ku, and you say somebody is a typical fan of ku because they didn't attend school there, it's an understatement to say there's a negative connotation associated with being a fan, and NOT attending the school. So once again, in a round about way, you did in fact say you had to go to school to be a fan.

Mr. ewx24: I just looked up that quadro card you mentioned. You're right, that is a expensive card! I like to maintain a little forum etiquette...so, I concede that you say own a computer that costs 10x as much as mine. Does it outperform it in games???    Unfortunately I think this might also make apparent your trend to seem to pay more, for less.....

I can't believe you guys are arguing over this dumb topic.  Let me break it down for you in how I see it:

-  FPS on PC used to be huge and the only thing people played (see Counterstrike, Tribes, and Unreal Tourny, all of which I played ruthlessly).
-  FPS has made it's way to the console and is now a gold mine due to little kids (see Halo)
-  Do hardcore FPS players on PC still exist? Yes, and in big numbers.  Developers have steered way from the PC due to bittorrent and copyrights.  Why spend money making a game if everyone can get it for free? It's hard to copy and distribute console games and parents will buy their kids Halo whenever they scream.

The fact is that the studios still want to cater to the PC gamers but are tired of losing money.  The studios have wised up financially and realized that the there is more money in console gaming and that the only thing people use computers for anymore is World of Warcraft and porn.

This is such a massive level of horse sh*t it can't even be explained with words.  That just isn't true.  People do pirate games, but the reason certain games don't sell well is because they just aren't very good.

The suck factor is indded a factor, but other than too much emphasis on piracy, I thought he pretty much nailed 1.) simplified development. I imagine testing is a lot easier when you only have to worry about one set of hardware as opposed to the million different computer configurations you have to jack with on PC. 2.) Nickel and Dime factor: COD on PC cost $49 up front, all additional content free. Same game on console costs $59 new, and after all the content downloads the games prolly getting close to $100. This isn't counting themes and all the other random junk people buy.  3.) Console audience is much larger. 4.) Piracy, although piracy isn't THAT much more difficult to do on a console...  All those factors equals big $$$ returns for developers.

Once dedicated boxes hit consoles and they develop a pinpoint accurate aiming system....the only thing left to give into will be the wallet rape.

gg yourself :). Where we started was mine making points on the topic which evolved into an argument of: "you posted twice in a row nooblar", or "your site hurts my eyes stupid face", or your contribution. HE'S A ku FAN KILL HIM. I really don't think you dispute any of my comments on PC gaming's superiority for certain genre's like FPS, and we're in some agreement about the health of pc gaming.
