    Hey, basketball!!!
I mean, the only team that is a favorite week in and week out is Texas (kind of, they haven't even been playing too good, see CU being up on them in Austin in the third quarter).

I see TT as the #2 team in the Big XII and they are 4-2 and have their back up QB starting now. OU is the third best IMHO and they are a measly 3-3 with their back up QB in for them for most likely the rest of the season too.

I really don't see another season since the Big XII was formed that comes close to this one.

I know that '04 & '05 were the worst seasons in the Big XII North pretty easily. But it's been a while since the South was this far down too.

True, in 04 Texas and OU were both pretty good.  The rest of the league was not though.  The North was aweful, but this year will give it a run.

NORTH DIVISION
Colorado 4-4, 8-5
Iowa State 4-4, 7-5
Nebraska 3-5, 5-6
Missouri 3-5, 5-6
Kansas 2-6, 4-7
Kansas State 2-6, 4-7
SOUTH DIVISION
Oklahoma 8-0, 12-1
Texas 7-1, 11-1
Texas A&M 5-3, 7-5
Texas Tech 5-3, 8-4
Oklahoma State 4-4, 7-5
Baylor 1-7, 3-8

It seems very similar to the 2005 season..Texas is the only team worthy of a NC run and we're only half way through the season. Oklahoma probably would have been if Bradford was healthy but without him they are probably headed to the Holiday Bowl, just like in 2005. Coincidentally, Texas will likely return to the Rose Bowl and play for a NC. The North is a lot like it was in '05 with mediocrity across the board. 2004 was pretty bad too but both OU and Texas were NC contenders late into the season.
Show me defense.

As long as the Big XII has a legitimate NC title contender it's not the worst it's ever been.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

All the OU injuries took the star power out of one of the leagues elite teams.

add in the parity of the North and no one really stands out on the national level other than Texas...and they are being left of out BCS #1 and #2 because of the national perception that our league isn't any good. That..and blatant SEC bias.

or perhaps its because they have been less than impressive so far.  that said as soon as florida and alabama play each other the winner will then play texas for the national title...
