    warm up the EMAW
This #1 song on your b-day has me remembering the ridic radio shows that stations would throw on weekends.  Kasey letting loose anecdotes straight from the PR/Agent/Bio and then pretending like they were the most entertaining, fascinating thing he'd just heard was insanely hilarious/awesome.  One I remember:

"Savage Garden lead singer Darren Hayes wanted to get his ears pierced before the band's first big music video shoot.  So Darren went in and was told to put in some studs until his ears had healed. . .But Darren just couldn't wait.  So, that's why you see him with those big gold hoops in the video.  Wow.  Now, for your number 3 song on the countdown, Savage Garden with "Truly, Madly, Deeply."

Kasey is a fantastic talent.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

    Hey, basketball!!!
Rick Dees and the weekly top fourty (he had one too). It was every Saturday night iirc and he would play all of the hit songs and then throw in some techno songs every now and then. You could pretty much host a rave when that show was playing. Anybody else remember that? It might be still on but I have no idea. I don't listen to the radio enough anymore to know...

    Powertard Un-approved
I think I heard Rick Dees recently.  Listened to both of them a lot back in the mid-80's.

Love when he does the inspirational stories.  Made up example:

Christy Jones has been friends with Tyisha Mitchell for 13 years, ever since they were in pre-school together.   When one tried out for the cheerleading squad the other did too.  When one got chicken pocks so did the other.  Earlier this year Tyisha was diagnosed with Leukemia.  Christy has been by her side since that day supporting her every step of the way.  Christy sent me a letter saying, "Mr Kasem, can you please play Matchbox 20 for my friend Tyisha?  It is her favorite song."  Well Christy and Tyisha, it's your lucky day, here is Matchbox 20!  :crybaby:

There's a new sheriff in town.
The "Long distance dedications" were absolutely gut-wrenching.

little known factoid:  rick dees and kasey kasem are rivals

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.
