1. Daniel Thomas is the real deal. We should let him lineup in the "Wildcat" more often and give him a run pass option. After all.....He did come to KSU as a QB

2. The Cats played their most complete game of the season in a tough environment against a quality opponent. Even with the loss, this is progress

3. Offensively the Cats didn't take advantage of many opportunities but we did move the ball. Again, even with the loss, this is progress

4. We've got to find a pass rush. UCLA's QB's had time to make sandwiches and polish their surf boards to get ready for a day on the beach today before we were able to get to them

5. Special teams continues to be a disaster. Cherry did make a FG but we missed another and completely screwed up an extra point which is crucial in close games. We also had some decent kick returns

6. This team is showing signs of responding to coaching. It's a great adjustment that we used the Wildcat so much and the big atmosphere and crowd, which wasn't as big as I thought it would be, didn't seem to bother the team at all.

Obviously this season is different than any other season of KSU football that I can remember. This game wasn't about winning or losing but about improving. Have the Cats improved? Yes! Was it enough to win the game? No! Is that improvement good enough then? No! I think at this point all we can hope for is that we continue to show signs of improvement throughout the season and use that as a spring board to launch the program into a more successful 2010.

The "slogan", to bring up a bad memory of the former regime, for this team is "progress". As long as we can continue to "progress" this can turn out to be a season that we can all be proud of.

Go Cats!

IMO, the offensive and defensive line play was poor. The inability to put pressure on Craft with the DL alone hurt, and at times the UCLA OL completely blew the DL off the ball. OL play was poor as well ... Most of Thomas's best runs were improvised when the initial hole was closed, and the only pass play the worked effectively was the shuffle pass. Until KSU gets better line play, they'll be watching everyone else go bowling .... Hopefully, Snyder can find some recruits for the OL/DL ...

I don't recall getting a decent push from our DT's the entire game. Our DE's did not contain well - especially when Craft went to the play action.

Both lines should be our recruiting priority...
