    The very best.
okay everyone. time to go home.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Stop fantarding this Tate deserves the offer he was given so STFU

What do you base this on?  :dunno:

Their conclusions aren't based on anything other than the fact that they believe if bill snyder says or does something it must be correct.

It's a dumb argument.

He shouldn't be treated differently because he's the coaches son.
You suppose that Cody Hawkins is a walkon?

READ THIS ONE.

Here's the thing, though: He is being treated differently precisely BECAUSE he's family.  I'm not talking about the reason you THINK that I think that. I'm talking about something else that to my knowledge hasn't been brought up yet by anybody in these threads.  Ready?

Anyone who has followed Manhattan High football players closely during the entirety of Snyder's tenure in Manhattan knows that it's very, very, very, VERY rare for him to throw scholarships at Manhattan kids.  Like, pretty much nonexistent. There have been some amazing players who have come through Lew Lane/Butch Albright's ranks who definitely could've earned them from Snyder, but Snydz never offered them to kids from Manhattan because he always operated on the assumption that these kids have been born with K-State love from the beginning and there's a high likelihood they'll walk on.  Coach Lane knew of Snyder's philosophy on this all along, Coach Albright knew it*, and anybody who played with the A.D. Mayses or Mike Nashes and saw them offered walk-on positions knows it.  At the VERY most, he "encourages" them to walk on with hopes of maybe earning a scholarship by the time they're juniors or seniors -- just ask Jason Kazar.

So yes, Snyder suddenly breaking this policy of his to offer a scholarship to.......ta da......his own grandson smacks of nepotism.  Maybe the kid's good at football.  I don't know, I've never seen him play.  But I can guarantee there have been better players than Tate Snyder who went to Manhattan High and have shown interest in getting a scholarship to K-State and received less than what Tate's getting.  THAT'S why Tate Snyder shouldn't be getting a scholarship from Bill Snyder.  Because nobody else did.

MJ, I know you're ridiculously stubborn and will still be a vag and try to argue your way out of this, but unless you were raised in Manhattan watching MHS football every single week, year after year -- concurrently with Snyder's tenure, by the way -- you have no grounds for argument with the point I just made.  <----But I'm gonna guess you're still going to do that douchebag move you do a lot where you cross your arms, angrily sit there with your wiener between your legs, and pout.

*--In fact, Coach Albright saw it unjustly happening to his players for so many years in a row that he eventually stopped making an effort altogether to promote his players to Snyder because he knew they weren't getting scholarships.

This is a bunch of crap.  Snyder has offered scholarships to Manhattan kids when they were deserving of one.  The only exception to this was probably the Mayes kid but he walked on to ku so it's not like anyone else was after him either.  Outside of him there really hasn't been a Manhattan kid that deserved a d-1 ship that Snyder didn't offer.  If anything he offered a few Manhattan kids ships that probably were not of that caliber.  Snyder has given ships to more then 10  Manhttan kids over the years not sure how you can say he doesn't offer ships to Manhattan kids.

Video's of Tate Snyder will show that this is an excellent pickup.

TP will be blogging on it tonight with vids.

^^^^this - heard urban meyer, pete carroll, and charlie weiss, 'mongst a veritable who's who of super elitist college coaches (and friends of OB) all talked with YB hs coach before making the connection, but then not offered out of 'spect for OB and 4gone 'clusion that YB's is EMAW through and through.  2010 preseason poll already has the cats #15 with this commitment

    Hey, basketball!!!
Quick question. How could this be Sean's kid and Bill's grandkid who plays at Manhattan High and this is the first that we've heard about him?

Is this his breakthrough season or something? :dunno:

Now that's how you get out a f***ing blood stain.
Couldn't he basically get in for free or really cheap since his Dad works for the football program and his Grandpa is the head coach? :dunno:

I'm not going to argue something you copied from somewhere else because you yourself can't come up with a better argument.

Everyone has a perspective, will believe what they want to believe.  The issues of who is deserving a scholarship are subjective.  Yet, most of what people are saying have NOTHING to do with his abilities.  Please, stop with the nonsense.  I don't care that Butch Albright was offended.  That douchebag had more issues than anyone else and was lucky to have his job for as long as he did.  I don't know why anyone gives him any credence.

BTW: I graduated from MHS in 1983.

Hey I am not sure if anyone realized this or not, but MHS plays there home games over at Bishop Stadium in Cico park. You want to see Tate play? Pay five bucks and watch the game. Manhattan is a fun team to watch this year. So enough of these assumtions, you want answers, find them out for yourselves.

Would be a waste of 5 bucks, first of all.  Second of all, 3 pages deep and I still have seen no stats or video by those saying he is a D1 talent.  :-*

No, they're not actually.

Total cop out.

Of course they're subjective.  That's why every team doesn't offer every player.  Also, merely labeling something a cop out doesn't actually make it a cop out.

mj's whole argument from what i can tell based on what he's posted here and in other threads is that tate is deserving because he has a bunch of tackles and a couple of int's so far this year. if that's the case then why not just offer a scholly to the best defensive player on every kansas high school football team.

"sabetha head football coach, bill snyder on line one."

mj-do you have a better argument? please just lay it out here. we are all waiting. seriously, just make the case.

It's awesome watching mj twist in the wind on this one, all the while keeping his wiener between his legs as he's all, "na-uhhh!!!!1".  Look, Tate MAY be worth the scholarship, who knows.  But
A)  Give us some facts (i.e. ACTUAL NUMBERS) to back it up.
B)  You can see how this might appear kiiiinda suspicious, right?  "No, totally, nothing suspicious about this at all."

FWIW, TP is apparently also okay with the scholarship offer.  Seems like he might have some sort of idea what a decent LB looks like.

Does it seem like he's really all that worried about staying on Snyder's good side?  If he was, I kinda doubt he would tolerate all the stuff that is said on this board.

The next intelligent thing you say will probably be the first.  All I hear from you are tired old retreads of things others have already said on this board.
