i have been trying so hard to sleep on my stomach.  head position is difficult, i've tried 2 pillows and putting my face between like massage beds, but only fail.  also feel like my hands would fall off from loss of blood.  i did it once, drooled a lot, but probably due to being sh*tfaced.

back 4 lyfe

    Hey, basketball!!!
I roll around too much to know what position I usually am at. I always start on side though.

back. but i switch between that and my side.

here's a tip for ya stuns. if you want to sleep on your side have a firm pillow and a soft pillow. layer the soft pillow on top of the firm one and fold the soft pillow over.

works real well.

ranking

1. left side
2. right side
3. side/back
4. back
5. stomach (risk cutting off blood supply to arms if not done right and you wake up with a completely numb arm in middle of the night)

sometimes I'll do a half side/half back position. the left side is my go to position.

I do this a lot.  However, there is a hybrid move where your hips are on the side but your chest is down.

Start on side.  Waking up is always a surprise though.  Don't know if it's gonna be on the stomach or the back.

not quite following u.  sounds intriguing though.  i do sleep fine on my side though.

interesting fact: i heard u are 5 times more likely to experience sleep paralysis on your back.  sleep paralysis on your side would probably be super frightening, like hallucinating some monster sleeping next to you.  though one time i made the mistake of opening my eyes, and it looked like some owl-looking monster thing was looking down at me.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

i would imagine that it is a very common style.

ot: did any one have a pillow as a boundary for the side of the bed when they younger to prevent "monsters" from getting into the sack? used to do this when i was in first grade.

Back mostly, but some side. Only a little stomach.  Back needs a thick pillow, side needs less, and stomach needs almost none.

Stomach is odd.  I can lay flat and it is comfortable, but only if the head is turned to the left.  Neck must not turn as far to the right as it does to the left.  Can turn slightly up if I am holding a pillow in my arms.

Its tough because I like to stick my arms out to the side, but since I started sharing a bed, my wife decided she doesn't like arms smacking her in the face in the middle of the night.

The big determiner in how much I can sleep on my stomach is how much water I drank during the day.  I feel better, and my back is less stiff, in the morning if I am well-hydrated.

used my blanket.  lol, like i always had to have my blanket curled under my feet to protect monsters from entering that angle.

Tummy.  One arm down to  side parallel with body.  Other arm out of covers off edge of bed, hanging.  One foot, right, out of covers also over the edge of bed.  Lots of drool.

right side is supposed to be better for your heart and extend your life by a year or something (as opposed to your left side). I like that with the aforementioned pillow between the legs.

Same place it is the rest of the day.  I don't put it on my nightstand or anything if that's what you mean.

    I may be full of sh*t, but i won't be de-turd.
Side 95 % of the time. Back, 5% when i can't fall to sleep. I've also recently found out that a snore like a gutted hog when i sleep on my back. Plus i sometimes wake up with a swolen hangy ball thing in the back of my mouth. Makes the next couple days horrible. Also have slept with the same pillow all my life( 21 odd years). As you can imagine, it is about to fall apart. But i can't part with it. It is the perfect combination of soft and firm. So i sleep with it against my chest, while my head rests on other random pillows. Sleep 100 times better with it. Don't judge me.

Perfect opportunity to perform "The Stranger". If I could do this on purpose, I would.

This happened not too long ago, maybe 5-6 months ago, and it was so bad I thought I did some serious damage. Woke up at like 3:30am and rolled my torso up and it was just hanging completely lifeless, 100% numb from the shoulder down. Everything came back after about 4 minutes but it was sore the next day. Since then, I've tried to avoid sleeping on my stomach but if I do I make sure I'm positioned in a safe manner(arms spread away from torso).

like if i don't put my arms around my head when on my stomach, it feels like there is a ton of pressure on my head.  but pillow makes the neck angle awkward, probably soreness-inducing.
