Build one of those Japanese bullet trains direct from KC to Manhattan. Anyone know how fast a one way trip would take on one of those? 30-45 minutes?

I think that could greatly help solve any problem of people traveling to/from KC for games/recruiting or any other reason to access KSU from a major metro area. It would be great for people that want to catch football games but even better for those basketball mid-week night games. It would be weather proof so it would work in the winter. The football and basketball teams could also use it to travel to away games in Lawrence/Columbia and the Big 12 Championships when in KC. Any persons associated with uk would not have access to the entire rail system unless they pay an absurdly high fee.

p.s. I have no idea if $100 million would even be enough to make that happen

rail? serious?

Convince AA to make MHK a secondary hub.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I, for one, like the idea of a bullet train.  Something very elite about them  EMAW Express?

How much would it cost to get the GooGoo Dolls to play a show during halftime every home game for a year?

LOL, it would take a ton more money to convince AA to expand a hub to a remote location like Manhattan. High speed rail technology is no Amtrak. Current technologies allow them to go about 200mph and future technologies will use magnetic levitation(maglev) allowing speeds from 361mph to 3,977mph. You are basically flying with this technology anyway. That potential makes trying to take a 737 look stupid after considering all the logistics. Plus, trains can transport a much larger number of people.

If you're looking to go to a game for a day or basketball game at night using air travel, you would have to go find parking at an airport and pay for it, go through airport security, check any large items and do similar upon arrival, then get bussed or find a ride to the stadium. All that would take a bunch of time even though the plane could go faster initially. The EMAW Express would be designed for the sole purpose of transporting a large number of people directly from KC to BSFS and the OOD. The station would be built right near the sports complexes so no busing needed. Total time spent getting from point A to point B might actually be faster considering the logistics.

Then you think about the potential to expand and upgrade technology to maglev in 25-30 years and you have one badass transit system making air travel at that distance obsolete and it could be used specifically for and by KSU.

Kansas City is a second tier town filled w/second tier citizens. I don't get the obsession with that crap city.

Give me teh "metroplex" any day over KC.
