Lafayette had very light damage from Katrina. We did shelter many hurricane refugees though. Many of them stayed here after seeing what Lafayette was all about.

Right. Southern brought 10,000 fans. They had their own tailgating area. 80% chance of rain is not helping either.

Maybe we should spur them on?  I'll try, here's a few things to work with:

1. Our stadium has livestock near it (sheep even!!! LMAO!!)

2. Our coach is old, like REALLY old.  Lots of comedy gold here...

3. We're national champs is soil judging, SOIL JUDGING!!1!1!  Come on here guys, this comedy practicaly writes itself.

4. We hired Ron Prince and gave him a "Super Secret" buyout extension.  Again, easy pickins here.

5. Our linebacker core includes a ginger, and he's a STARTER!!1!1!

Those are all obvious and should get you started.  If you can't utilize these, well then you're a lost cause and Katrina failed miserably in wiping you out completely. :hope:

Unfortunately, you KSU fans are our guests this week. It would be in extremely bad taste to insult your culture.
So you're talking to each other now. Good Luck.

Never have I been more embarrassed to be a KSU fan than I am today.  The attitude on this board stinks and besmirches the entire University.  Heck, even the whole state of Kansas.

Cajun Fan 1,  as a true KSU fan (the rest of these idiots are all high schoolers looking for attention) I apologize for their loathsome display of ignorance.  I wish your boys the best of luck tomorrow, and hope no gets hurt.

The problem with this board is... lack of substantive sport's talk.  Everybody has to be a god damn comedian.  Some of the banter is smart and whitty.  I'll give you that.  I laugh a lot on this board.  But other crap is just dumb and annoying.  See 90% of this thread.  Making fun of Katrina is neither intelligent nor whitty.

With that said, what's the story down there?  What are the fans expecting?  Is ULL any good this year?  strengths and weaknesses?

The Cats obviously have some offensive weaknesses.  Carson "nail in the" Coffman throws like a chick.  Offensive line is inexperienced.  Daniel Thomas, RB, is probably most talented playmaker on the team.  He could rund for big yards tomorrow with a bit of help up front.

Defensively, our front line is very thin.  Injuries and inexperience.  Secondary is probably in the top half of the Big XII.  pretty good.  ULL running or passing team?

Alright genius, The original city was built on a ridge next to the Mississippi River. As the city grew they began draining Marshes and building levees to expand. New Orleans was a key port for shipping, so that tobacco chewing, one-toothed, goat screwing farmers from Kansas could ship corn and wheat.

The Mississippi is only the third biggest river in Kansas.

    I survived the Dickey/Parrish era.
The bigotry of the nonbeliever is for me nearly as funny as the bigotry of the believer.

I think I can speak for the tobacco chewing, one-toothed, goat screwing farmers in expressing our appreciation for the shipping channels afforded by the port of New Orleans despite its misfortunes...please don't cut off our supply of hot sauce.  TIA  :cyclist:

If the Mississippi was a human being, it would be a Thai lady-boy.  Pretty sure you get herpes just from looking at the POS river.

Gonna be pretty balanced this year. We have been primarily a run team for the last four years, but our personnel is gone. O-line will be strong. D-line is weak in my opinion. Recievers are adequate and the two tight ends are big and fast.. Defensive back field is fast but a little small. All in all, I think you guys will have a big day running the football. K-State 31   UL-21

If your D-Line is a weakness, I think that K-State wins by 10+.  Snyder is determined to run the football for three reasons:
1.) Coffman is a liability.
2.) To be successful in the Big XII we MUST run the ball well.  With all of these quick scoring offenses, we need to win the time of possession battle on a consistent basis.
3.) Snyder doesn't want to reveal his entire offense until it is absolutely necessary. (UCLA or ISU).

Bottom line, Snyder doesn't coach exciting football in non-conference games.  He is going to run the football 75% of the plays.  Thomas and Valentine are going to take a lot of carries.
