Wasps!  Spiders, snakes, clowns, babies, none of that sh*t scares me but send a couple wasps my way and I basically curl up in the fetal position and cry.  I'm not ashamed to admit this.  Anyone else hate them too?

Meh.  I've been stung by wasps/yellowjackets/hornets/whatevs many times.  It hurts but you get over it.  I mean, yeah, I run away and whatnot but spiders are scarier....and I've, to my knowledge, never gotten bitten by a spider.  Maybe it's the unknown that's scary :dunno:

Just had maintenance come and take out a nest that was on my deck.  There were seven of those little a$s holes hanging out.  Dude sprayed them with this stuff that freezes them so when they die they still look they're alive. Wish he would have pinned them down and burned each one with a heated penny.

Ugh, last summer some wasps made a nest inbetween the wooden boards in our fence (had one where the boards are on opposite sides, with alternating boards if you know what I mean. Basically there's like 3 inches of emptiness in the middle of the fence with plenty of room for them to fly in/out) right by the gate. Every time I opened/closed it they would get pissed off and chase me. This was the only way to get the mower from front yard to back, short of dragging it through the house or tossing it over the fence.

I went out with a can of raid and kicked the fence, then ran back and as one was flying at me, hit it with a jet of liquid wasp killer (didn't spray at all, just a thin stream) and just watched it drop (stepped on it to rub in victory).

When I was a kid I put a wasp in a jar (trapped it up against the side of the house with the jar, you know?) and then added a praying mantis to said jar.  The praying mantis ate it.  So, I would suggest importing praying mantis's to your neighborhood to help with the wasp problem.  Praying mantis's also seem to be effective against those big red ants.  I was kind of a weird little kid in retrospect.

Aren't there studies out that say most people get bitten like fifty times and swallow around eight annually while they're asleep?

Maybe, that's why I put the "to my knowledge" part.  But, I doubt I do as I've never seen a spider in my house.

That's what I like to hear.  I place wasp victory stories on par with stories about kicking some gangbanger's ass.  Shot one (a wasp) with a bb gun once from at least twenty feet away.  That was a good day.

I have nests upon nests of opaque spiders in my house too.

Pretty epic wasp kill, if true. Not much experience with a bb gun but sounds ridiculously hard to hit a wasp from more than a few feet away.

It is true.  He was sitting on my parents back patio.  I was twelve years old and was/am a pretty terrible shot. It was complete luck/fate.

When I lived in my first apartment in KC, I had a problem with spiders.  I'd wake up in the morning with a little red bump, and by the afternoon, it was the size of a silver dollar.  Then, by the evening, it would be aboue the size of a small silver dollar with lines coming out of it.

Ultimately, once it came to a head, you'd just pop the head, pour hydrogen peroxide in it, and then use some form of neosporin, and a couple of days later, it was all gone.

I could never prove it was those spiders, but it never happened to me again after I moved out of there.

Ever since we moved into our new house, we've had the bug killer guys come every few months to spray.  Since the bugs don't come inside, the spiders don't either because they have nothing to eat.  However, they do wander all over the foundation of my house because there's all sorts of crap for them out there.  So as long as they don't come inside, I don't care because I find them to be quite useful.

it's usually illegal to ride a bike on sidewalks.  take it up with the retards that write laws.

Yes, the laws are retarded.  However, has anyone ever heard/seen/know of somebody who got a fine/ticket for riding their bike on the sidewalk ???

that would suck.  I bet he was aiming for your eyeball and you flinched slightly and he rammed his pointy butt right into your nose.

    AAAAAHHHHH AAAAHHH
Was about 20 feet up in this pear tree when I went to pluck the prize only to find there was a yellow jacket on the other side who thought it prudent to send my understanding of pain into a new dimension.  The fall through limbs and ending with a whoosh of air as my lungs collapsed against the ground still haunts.

I took vengeance some years later in a barn, where I closed the doors until they were open only an inch and with one of those plastic tubes they used to have for sliding your golf club into in the bag, as they flew in I batted upwards of 1000 against the wall.  The bong from the tube as they were hit was music.
