Meh. I've been stung by wasps/yellowjackets/hornets/whatevs many times. It hurts but you get over it. I mean, yeah, I run away and whatnot but spiders are scarier....and I've, to my knowledge, never gotten bitten by a spider. Maybe it's the unknown that's scary
When I lived in my first apartment in KC, I had a problem with spiders. I'd wake up in the morning with a little red bump, and by the afternoon, it was the size of a silver dollar. Then, by the evening, it would be aboue the size of a small silver dollar with lines coming out of it.
Ultimately, once it came to a head, you'd just pop the head, pour hydrogen peroxide in it, and then use some form of neosporin, and a couple of days later, it was all gone.
I could never prove it was those spiders, but it never happened to me again after I moved out of there.
Ever since we moved into our new house, we've had the bug killer guys come every few months to spray. Since the bugs don't come inside, the spiders don't either because they have nothing to eat. However, they do wander all over the foundation of my house because there's all sorts of crap for them out there. So as long as they don't come inside, I don't care because I find them to be quite useful.
