I like my dell studio 17" monitor I got for $699.  Don't remember all the extra stuff like RAM, HD space but I'm sure it's awesome.  Had it about a year and love it no problems (has vista) meh.

Yep, the $399 HP Laptop from Best Buy, they sold 10 of them while I was there.   Very happy so far, first PC with Vista though, and Vista sucks IMO, but the performance the Laptop itself is fine.

BTW .  .  . the Samsung LED TV's . . .

Just not in the budget right now . . .  :-[

I am liking mine as well, but the fan gets very annoying sometimes.

Got that same deal. Vista is ghey too, but hopefully Windows 7 is  when I get the free upgrade in October.

My fan is not even noticeable. Don't even know what it sounds like  That sucks PPat  :-[

Vista complainers are huge tards, but W7 is even better, running it now.

Wow. They have Microsoft Office for Mac. You made a great choice. Many people talk about all the crap they got for their PC for small prices, but the average PC user is going to have to spend more than that to keep it running because they'll eventually encounter problems with it. Also, Macs cost more, but their resale value is ridiculously high.

The user experience has also been rated much higher. Macs are easier to use and Apple has great customer service.

BTW, LOL at Vista users for having to run tons of extra software to do anything (like rip a DVD).

Some elite things to do:
- Download QuickShareIt
QuickShareIt is a free application that you place in your dock. You can drag any file to the icon, and it'll upload it to the Web and give you a link to the URL. If you drag a folder or multiple files at the same time, it'll .zip them.

- Download HandBrake
A great application for ripping/compressing DVDs.

- Use the included software
Add your contacts to Address Book, set up your e-mail account on Mail, use iCal, etc. All of these applications work great and are integrated together. Also, if you have your information added to Address Book properly, it's very easy to auto-fill any form online.

- Use iLife
iPhoto, iMovie, iWeb and GarageBand are all exceptional software thats better than anything that comes built-in with Windows. If you want to make a ringtone, edit a movie, organize your photos, make a Web site, etc., there are plenty of things you can very easily with iLife.

More to come...

Watch Mac commercials much?

Btw - Vista is more secure than OSX

Also, you mention PC users having to use extra software to rip DVDs, and then tell him to download software that..........................................wait for it..........................................rips dvds

LOL!

Resale value:

To run Handbrake on Vista, users must also be running SlySoft in the background to get around the DRM-protection.

BTW, how much extra crap do PC users normally buy when purchasing a new laptop? Anti-virus software?

Anti Virus software is free.  Every single thing you need can be had for free (legally)

And in case you hadn't heard, Apple recommends OSX users to run an anti-virus now.

There is NO disputing the Macs are the easiest computers to hack.

I didn't realize this was a Mac vs. PC thread. I thought this was a thread for people with Macs to talk about Mac stuff. Nobody cares what PC users think about Macs.

No, this thread was about what he could do on his mac that he couldn't do on his PC - hence a PC vs mac thread.

Why do you think Vista sucks? Especially if performance is fine?

whenever i see someone w/a mac, i get angry because they are better than me.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

i mean, that can't be the only perks of mac can it?

having switched back to pc, i feel like i can do anything i want on it.  mac didn't offer the same flexibility.  only reason i thought macs were better, were because the pc's i had were sh*t.

4gb, vista, big hd, freedom, $700,
