Wow. They have Microsoft Office for Mac. You made a great choice. Many people talk about all the crap they got for their PC for small prices, but the average PC user is going to have to spend more than that to keep it running because they'll eventually encounter problems with it. Also, Macs cost more, but their resale value is ridiculously high.
The user experience has also been rated much higher. Macs are easier to use and Apple has great customer service.
BTW, LOL at Vista users for having to run tons of extra software to do anything (like rip a DVD).
Some elite things to do:
- Download QuickShareIt
QuickShareIt is a free application that you place in your dock. You can drag any file to the icon, and it'll upload it to the Web and give you a link to the URL. If you drag a folder or multiple files at the same time, it'll .zip them.
- Download HandBrake
A great application for ripping/compressing DVDs.
- Use the included software
Add your contacts to Address Book, set up your e-mail account on Mail, use iCal, etc. All of these applications work great and are integrated together. Also, if you have your information added to Address Book properly, it's very easy to auto-fill any form online.
- Use iLife
iPhoto, iMovie, iWeb and GarageBand are all exceptional software thats better than anything that comes built-in with Windows. If you want to make a ringtone, edit a movie, organize your photos, make a Web site, etc., there are plenty of things you can very easily with iLife.
More to come...
