some good stuff on the internet searching from Brown's high school days.  He was a talented basketball player too and there was a comment from his former coach that he was one of the toughest competitor's he's ever coached.

Prizell was 1st team all-state 4A in Texas by texashighschoolfootball.com as a 6-4 230lb defensive back.  He was 1st team all district as both a wide receiver and defensive back.

    Hey, basketball!!!
So in some formations do you think Snyder will throw him out @ WR? It said on that UNC vid that he played WR & safety in high school. 6'4" with a nice, big frame is pretty hard to cover out wide...

Plus, as we all know, we're not the deepest at WR...

Given the lack of refined talent on the offense for Snyder to start out nothing would surprise me the next few seasons.  People beat their heads against the wall thinking Snyder was just a duel-threat QB style coach but his offenses mid-to-late in his first tenure was built around the versatile skills of his players in the backfield and on the backs of the offensive line.  In his early days at KSU he didn't have that @ QB so he would use all sorts of gadgets and formations and had a complex passing game.  He tore up some good Nebraska defenses early on w/ little talent offensively compared to what Nebraska had to defend it.  Goes without saying what he did up at Iowa w/ QB's like Chuck Long.  He built some damn good offenses in the Big 10 that drove Michigan and Ohio State nuts.

2001/2002 colorado type offense in the works?

question becomes, is tony purvis our jeremy bloom?
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

2001 CU offense was legit given the QB and three NFL offensive lineman(Gurode, Rogers, and one other).  All were gone in 2002 and they did some smoke & mirrors type stuff...that '02 game in Boulder will haunt for a very long time.  I think that '02 KSU team wins the Big 12 over OU if we don't lose that gdamned game in Boulder.

Cam Newton didn't play with Prizell and probably doesn't even know him. Remember Newton transferred from Florida after stealing some kid's laptop then landed at Blinn a while after that...

uh no.  They had a good mix of vets and toughness but as far as weaponry they weren't anything like '01.  I can't believe that offensive line of theirs that season abused that defense we had in that game.  I still think about Bobby Walker, James McGill, and Randy Jordan.  Walker didn't cover the freshman RB out of the backfield well, McGill whiffed on the tackle in the hole, and Jordan got taken to the slopes by white bread.  Jeremy was pretty dreamy btw.  Got me some love for that white boy on the field making things happen.

Strengthens the pipeline?

Coach may say "Hey, Cam, look at Prizell!  He chose to play for the KSU Wildcats, and he's having a blast.  He and coach Bill are getting along swimmingly.  Maybe you should give it a try.  I bet you'd really like it."

Consider Cam a lock.  Pretty much a package deal imo.

Apparently, Dimel has some very strong ties to Blinn.  Maybe hiring that dude wasn't such a bad idea...

Well Fatty and Hatter, I think the early season CU OOC losses both in '01 and '02 gave me (us) a pretty false sense of security for both games.  Losing to Fresno State in '01 (an our playing OU 38-37 in Norman the previous week) and to USC in '02 (40-3 at Home prior to our beating USC) pretty much set me up for a fall.

I was next to the locker room when our beaten and battered Cats went in at halftime (down 28-14) and it was like a funeral march.  I've seen more spring in the steps on a senior citizen field trip.  When the first CU possession of the 3rd quarter provided a TD I thought it was overkill.  Needless to say an 80 yard Sproles run can make things better in a hurry.

I'd probably be a bit more bitter about things but the '01 Buffs team was just way better than KSU and the '02 Cats nearly pissed down their leg in the Holiday Bowl vs. ASU.  We might have beaten OU, as the Cats were definately on a roll, but maybe not.  The one that haunts me is the 1999 CU field goal kicker missing vs. Nubb.  That would have put us KSU the Championship game vs. a UT team they whipped in Austin earlier in the year.

It didn't even occur to me, but didn't Hartman hold on kicks at the end of last season?  Or was he just the up back on punts?  I think I may have suppressed most of my memories of last season, thank God.

Rumblings that he's with the staff in a student assistant role.  No idea what the hell that entails though...
