why you guys always feel the need to steal other schools mojo?
According to ku police reports, the fight involved as many as 100 people.
“We’re pretty sure an incident occurred,” said Capt. Schuyler Bailey, ku Public Safety Officer
“We will handle any discipline regarding this incident internally, and we will have no further comment about it.” Perkins

Who did the "We are" thing first?

Marshall?
Virginia Tech?

Hell, everybody at the Final Four does it now.

I've always found that rather comical.  ku's disdain for "us farmers" and "agri"-anything... but then they claim to wave the State of Kansas' wheat - agricultural product nickname.

Seems like WE'RE the ones that should be waving the Wheat State's symbol.

i do not have anything against you agri-types.  You might as well wave the wheat, and your power towels.

wabash?

good for a 1st

Wabash...yes!  Texas started playing Wabash regularly when their HC at the time wanted their band to play something more Country.

I don't know about the 'good for a 1st'...I've heard other places do this.  I pretend they stole it from   :ksu:

Other teams have done the towels for a long time...esp. the Steelers.

I've also seen other teams jangle the keys (Illini), so I'm not sure where that started.

We were first to do good for another...it started because we so rarely scored TD's, first downs were reason for celebration.  There is trivEMAW question for the day.

inside.kstatesports.com disagrees:

Quote
"Good for a Wildcat..."
Now heard all over the country, this cheer traces its roots back to Kansas State.

http://inside.kstatesports.com/   (bottom left corner)

I've also heard this elsewhere and Nike made those t-shirts back in the late 90's that had a powercat on the front with "Good for a Wildcat first down" on the back which was pretty much like our signature at the time. Dunno exactly, but I know that we had it before the Chiefs for sure.

We should have another of these cheers...only for defense this time.
