    The very best.

I heard yesterday that Bill Snyder has already informed some boosters that this year could easily be a 2 win season, and next year the same. He said the talent is worse than he thought when he took the job.

 :frown:
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Yeah, Snyder is going around telling donors that the football team is going to be terrible for the foreseeable future.  Classic Snyder.

It is reverse psychology, people.  Get it?  Ha!  Who cares?  What Snyd's does is turn common talent into All-Big12 1st teamers.

Seems like it is exactly his style.  I don't remember him ever really hyping his teams up, even when they were legitimate top-10 teams.  Maybe my sarcasm meter is off when it comes to this thread?

I've heard that Snyder has been telling the boosters that he will be surprised if we're trailing at ANY point during the upcoming season.

    ANGRY AS F*CK
Here's how the season will turn out:

final record 3-9

At some point late in the season, espn will do a story about coaches coming back and tarnishing their legacy.  Will do a story about Synd's and other old d00ds.  GPC will throw a fit, claiming that ESPN is anti-EMAW and that OB isn't tarnishing anything, just "settling the waters."

ksufans.com will peak with EMAW at the end of the 09 season with chants of "wait till '10!"

2010 - 5-7, OB retires again, Dimel becomes HC.

No way.

Snyder has it back and running in 4/5 years just in time for Gary Patterson to take over.  Hopefully Fitz will learn to shut his mouth.

Wishful thinking?  You betcha.
I'd much rather have a 69 year old coach than one that weighs 400+ pounds.

Uh . . . I think OB gets back to winning 7 or 8 games a year.  But no more 11 win season runs.

It's pretty clear he's figured out you can't do dumbass stuff like not go out on the recruiting trail at all during the month of December, or hope you get a bunch of guys to change their mind on February 10th.    So that alone will likely allow him to get just enough talent to squeak out 6-7-8 wins a year IMO.

I'd be happy with 8 wins per, I always thought it was more fun between '92 and '98 taking the journey to respectability than the unreasonable expectations of 11 win seasons every year.

Having said that, I think we'll go undefeated and win the MNC within 4 years :kstatriot:

Now that's how you get out a f***ing blood stain.
DOD's prelude began with a 1 win season.  so if we win 2 next year then we are looking at DOD x 2

When I was a kid growing up in the projects, I used to dream of going into space, of escaping the slums, of killing an Ewok!

Strong agreement......with 3 of the wins each year coming against the likes of North Texas.  A succession of totally irrelevant bowl appearances in unattractive locations until the "we travel well" mantra is dust in the wind.

The logic, it's there!

Seriously though, I can see 09 being somewhat of a disaster, but there's no way that Snyder doesn't do as well or better than Prince with the same talent -1 Josh Freeman. I think '10 will be better then 06, and '11 might get us back into the running for the north.

I don't believe for a second that BS said anything about a 2 win season, unless he was talking about uk.

You say losing Josh Freeman in passing as though that's not a big point.  Like him or not, we would have been incredibly worse the past 2 seasons without Freeman.  As much as we all love O.B., I don't understand the logic that he'll somehow take a 5-7 team that lost their best player/qb, one of the top wr's in Murphy, and Ian Campbell (even though he didn't make a huge impact), and magically make them into a team worth a sh*t.

3-9, tops.

Bill may have inherited a bad team of sorts but, he is 10x (no, make that 100x) of a better coach than Prince.  He will win 6 or 7 games this year and we go to small bowl.

The key word is... Schedule

I think K-State's talent compares favorably to the talent of Colorado, Texas A&M, and Iowa State and the setting for each game is either a home game or neutral site.  If we win those games we should be close to a bowl in year one.

Next year looks better, Harper, the transfer from MN.  Recruiting is improving.  I think it comes down to defense will the 4-2-5 work.  I know they will tackle better. :kstatriot:

I don't disagree that we'd be better with Freeman, but offense is only 1/3 of the game. The special teams were the only real high point last year, and I think that will continue as well as an improvement in defense. I think we can all agree that the defensive coaching staff this year is vastly superior.

We shouldn't have too much of a problem with getting 2-3 non-cons and 2-3 Big XII wins this year. Not great, but a lot better than 2-3 total. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think that's a high expectation, even for the players we have.
