Has anyone else ever noticed that:
1.  When ku beats KSU, the Wildcats are their biggest rival, or
2.  Whe KSU beats ku, Mizzou is ku's biggest rival?

Just wondering.  When I mingle with ku alum, that always seems to be the case.

Go 'Cats!

It's pretty clear why ku and mu moved the game to kc, the only way they were ever going to sniff at elite rivalry status was to get the 2 fanbases into a single stadium.   Because they basically didn't give a f_ck when the game was on campus.

ku obsesses over ksu more than mu.

but the mu-ku game is nothing but hate. ksu-ku we kind of have to act friendly to each other. mu-ku don't.

besides, mu fans really are pricks.

Yes, when it comes to dickhead levels, mu fans beat ku fans; although the johnson county based ku bandwagoners give mu fans a run for their money.

I 100% completely disagree.

Between a trip to Columbia and a trip to Lawrence...Columbia is hands DOWN a better experience for a fan in purple. Not to give MU fans too much credit but never really hand any problems with them win or lose. Although they have gotten much nicer since they have been better than us in the last three years.

...while my cousin played LB for mizzou in the mid-90's (96 i believe) my family went to watch him play. where is this monotonous drivel going? you may ask. well we were wearing EMAW gear along with some 'zou paws leaving the facility following the game and two 20-30ish type fellows start jawing with my dad (6'3 250 and nasty streak). my mom then shoved my 2 year old sister into my dad's arms to quell a beat down of apocalyptic proportion. the two got so annoying following us through the parking lot my mom took back my sister and the two guys took off running (literally). hawkers have never been too bad imo.

i love soliloquies.

This is all fact.  I never really understood the MU/ku rivalry until I moved to KC.  Mizzou fans for the most part are the stereotypical characatures(sp?) that ku fans portray them as.  A good example was the Royals game tonight.  I saw a few EMAWs in purple and quite a few people in ku attire, but those sporting the black and gold all had one or more of the following characteristics: mullets, jean shorts, sleevless t's, wife beater + crappy tattoos and or gold chain etc.  Mizzou fans also have a penchant to plaster their vehicles with oversized Tiger decals usually more than one present on said vehicle, it is like every day is game day.  Actually, there is a strange similarity between MU fans and the ku fans I saw frequently in Wichita.

Too be fair since moving here I have ran into a lot more of the stereotypical "ku snobs" as well. There is a definate difference between these and the ku fans you find in other parts of the state.  KSU fans in the metro seem to be pretty much the same as KSU fans anywhere.

the JOCO ku flags have gone up 1000% in my neighborhood in the last 2 years (have lived here for 6 years next month as point of reference). Not a fan of the flags personally, prefer the  powercat etched in limestone.

    The "other" KSU
OT - I have heard and acknowledged MANY ku/mu hate stories involving EMAWnation - but in the Big 12, there is one school that stands alone as far is deplorable/repugnant/disrespectful/errogant/ch!tty/a-h0le/mutherfracker fanbase and that school is located in Boulder, CO. The Buff stories that I have heard from excellent sources take the cake. I dish out the lion's share of crap to other fans, but nothing that would be in the same ball park as CU fans.

So do our scoreboards. See, everybody wins. Now Kansas can get back to being rivals with Missouri, Nebraska, USC, Notre Dame, the entire SEC minus Vandy and Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Memphis, Iowa (baseball only), Michigan (track and field only), Baylor (competitive figure skating only), Ohio State (Connect Four only), and Fort Hays State (you know since they kind of look like Missouri and stuff). You guys can maintain your rivalries with Texas and Texas State. Everything works out in the end!

WTF?  tigerboard in the mid 90's?  bulletin board?
According to ku police reports, the fight involved as many as 100 people.
“We’re pretty sure an incident occurred,” said Capt. Schuyler Bailey, ku Public Safety Officer
“We will handle any discipline regarding this incident internally, and we will have no further comment about it.” Perkins

USC?

I liked being rivals with USC but they couldn't keep up their end of the bargain.  Now, whenever I see s Trojan fan I just sadly shake my head.  It could have been great but we owned them too much.  Should have thrown the game out there to keep rivalry alive.
