agreed on all of above.additional thought-decent exercise if walking. not decent exercise if using golf cart.
played a lot in college, have since quit. don't like sucking at something that costs so much money and time.
At my company golf is like a requirement for promotion. If you don't golf with the boss, it's going to take twice as long to get promoted.
I think the main reason I want to get good at golf is that it is a sport you can play, and play well, until you are super old. There are really no other sports that you can say this about. It would be cool to be that 76 year old dude that everyone wants on their 4 man scramble team.
Worst feeling in golf: How about when you're on the first tee (everyone waiting is watching) and you hit the ground way before you hit the ball and you roll it like 20 ft. in front of you. That might be the worst feeling in the world, not just in golf.

This summer I wanted to actually improve, but its kinda hard when I have yet to actually go out. I enjoy it most of the time... plus any sport where you can drink is a sport I can get with.

Unbelievable that I hit the "head pin" every single time and only knock 9 pins down. Not nearly as fun as golf though.
tennis is a much better one to play

Would much rather bowl than golf, and I'm actually not horrible so it makes it a lot more fun, only thing is the only people that bowl are 50+ and smoke like chimneys
Golf: Finished 1st at state my sophomore year of high school.
Why does golf appeal so much to people who are so bad at it??? People who are absolutely obsessed with golf are often very bad at it, esp. considering the time, money, and effort they invest.

I get to sit on my ass, drink beer, drive a sweetass electric cart, enjoy the sun in the beautiful flint hills. What could be better?
