NORMAN, Okla. -- Forward Juan Pattillo has been kicked off Oklahoma's basketball team for an undisclosed violation of team policy.

Sooners coach Jeff Capel announced Sunday that he had dismissed Pattillo, who came out of a redshirt halfway through last season and helped Oklahoma reach the regional finals in the NCAA tournament.

Pattillo averaged 6.2 points and 3.6 rebounds and also provided a shot-blocking presence in 18 games off the bench. With player of the year Blake Griffin moving on to the NBA, Pattillo was expected to play an even bigger role next season.

Capel says he will not comment on Pattillo's dismissal.

    The very best.
yeah. ou and texas aren't returning much at all. they better hope they are bringing in a pair of GRCOATS.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

impressive how capel jumped to the head of the latwill line as soon as he found out ol' pattey was done for.
"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."
