like this show. Kinda like Rescue Me for the LA Police force...but Police deal with people rather than fires so it adds a different dimension...

1. they fight crime
2. their lives are f'ed up because of that/or their past
3. the story spins on the f'ed up people helping get the bad guys
4. repeat

entertaining though

Can you watch crime dramas? I mean, I'd be afraid I'd be overly critical and couldn't enjoy any of them.

Sure, I enjoy fantasy land as much as the next guy. Most of them I tend to laugh at (CSI's, Law and Order, etc). Although Southland isn't too bad, I much rather prefer the reality ones like First 48, The Shift, The Interragotors, etc. Even Cops is a little hokey as they tend to showboat for the cameras.  But, all in all, CSI is the absolute worst for realism. I love how they say that every criminal leaves a part of himself at the scene. True, but so does everyone else that has ever been there. I really like the DNA tests that they get in 5 minutes. Depending on the severity of the case, it takes 6 months to 2 years to get results, due to the backlogging. AND, fingerprints are great, but they rarely exist in any usuable form, unless the place had just been cleaned (spotlessly) just prior to the bad d00d touching something gently. I mean really. GMAFB.

yeah this proves that I couldn't watch any crime drama with a real cop. They take all the fun out of it with the "realism".

I love NCIS, but it's so unbelievable. First off, I'm pretty sure the NCIS just goes after like two murderers a year. Not once a week. And the stuff they can do is kinda lol. CSI is garbage, btw.
