What should I do besides the obvious (Empire State Building, Ground Zero, Statue of Liberty, etc...)?

What are you there for?  I am in town for work but have absolutely nothing to do thursday and friday.  Flight leaves at 6pm friday and we're flying direct to San Diego (Continental out of Newark).

I know, right? That's what I was thinking. The lady wanted to do the whole Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty deal where you get on the boat and tour around it. Meh.

We are gonna go on the Empire State Building, tho.  

Statue of Liberty is probably worth the ride out if you've not been there before, Ellis Island ... not so much.  Coolest part of the Empire State Building is the lobby, you might stand in line for quite a while to go up top which is a waste of time IMHO.  The museums in NY absolutely kill though, great stuff to see.
