It doesn't sound like Crawford was necessarily in the wrong, either.

Seriously, man.  None of us know the exact details.  How does this imply Crawford was in the wrong:

"Ben was in a rage and jumped on his hood, denting it all up, so Joc hit the brakes and Ben flew off."

Apparently the guy goes to the Hawk and gets hammered on a regular basis.  I'm not sure exactly what happened, but jumping on someone's hood in a rage doesn't sound like a smart thing to do.

First, vehicular assault doesnt require intent.  Lots of facts are unknown.

second, if he left the scene, even if he did nothing wrong, that is a crime.

so, crawford killed a teammate? oh...ku.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

KK is reporting now but just reading off the LJW.

Bad news for the kid though.  Even if he pulls through, he has a long way to go if his brain was swelling.

From Phog.net:

therobz:  Ben is doing better than what has been circulating. This will probably be on all the KC TV stations tonight. kuAD will likely talk about it tomorrow. But Ben is in good shape as far as his immediate health is concerned.

So you're saying the story isn't completely false, like you said earlier?

Actually, it sounds like the rumors might have some legs.  As of last night, JK of the Slant said he hadn't heard anything, which led me to believe that the story was made up.  I found this on the Slant today:

Bergy3: "Confirmed now by several players. Joc got in his Tahoe to leave the argument. Ben was in a rage and jumped on his hood, denting it all up, so Joc hit the brakes and Ben flew off."

If true, it sounds like Leuken might be seriously hurt.  I would hope that most K-State fans would have enough class not to joke about this.  It doesn't sound like Crawford was necessarily in the wrong, either.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Ben Lueken and his family. I really hope that he recovers and that this was all just an unfortunate accident.

Reports say that he is being transported by plane to Children's Mercy in St Louis by plane piloted by Brook Berringer.

The Board of Regents changed the name of the university?  Really?  Who knew... :dunno:

I'd much rather have a 69 year old coach than one that weighs 400+ pounds.

Never said it was all "lies."  The rumor was over-exaggerated, though, from what I can tell.  Sounds like Leuken will be fine and no foul play was involved.  Once again, you're the a-hole throwing stones in glass houses.

Don't get all  :angryMJ:  because the first place you run and try to explain it all is this website Captain Meltdown.

Plus I never said there was any wrong doing involved dumbass . . . I just laugh at the usual mystery that surrounds everything that goes on in squawkville when it comes to stuff that's being "investigated" by kupd and lpd and involving ku athletics.

But you keep on getting all  as per usual.

NBC Action News in KC just reported that a suspect has been identified and there will be more information forthcoming.  Generally, the term "suspect" isn't used in situations when there isn't wrongdoing.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Now some discussion as to the make and model of Crawford's SUV and discussion on how it seems to be a rather high dollar vehicle.

No doubt his "aunt" bought it for him.

Ummm…wow

On a much, MUCH, different note, Tim Griffin has ranked Kerry Meier as the 26th best player the Big XII. Whatever that means - considering he also has Derrick Washington ahead of Earl Thomas and Jordan Lake…

Lew's in control.  Dirtiest and yet best AD if you're going to run a crooked program.

A suspect was identified and arrested, and then unarrested, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s office.

http://www.kansascity.com/385/story/1132212.html

WTF can we not get RCPD to act in a similar manner?  Would be so much easier if they would give K-State the benefit of the doubt on issues like these instead of bringing in silly things like laws into the equation.
