Yea I'm really not sure how doug got. has anywhere to speak on this....  I've been to Stilwater.  Other than the new football stadium there is not a lot of anything going on there and not really sure how they get any recruits to sign let alone visit.

Also that county has some stupid law that on Sundays even bars and restaurants can not serve beer over 3.2 or any liquor at all.

    Gettin' angried up!!!
I probably won't make a good first impression with this post....

If anyone happened to watch Sports Center this morning that made a reference to K-State football.  They were talking about the most difficult teams to coach, like Kentucky, Notre Dame, the Yankees, Cowboys, etc.  And someone said something to the effect "you can't tell me those are hard places to coach. What about places like Mississippi State, Washington State and Kansas State?"

Any thoughts on being one of the most irrelevant football programs again?

it was Doug Got. and it was Miss State, Washington football and K-State football
Don't understand the Washington angle. Everytime I see their campus and open ended stadium I want to go there. Great place. The other two... Not so much.

QFT.  Definitely one of the most beautiful stadium views in the country.  Mountains to one side, huge ass sailboats to the other.  I would certainly not be opposed to playing my college ball in that place.

racist area of country.

Never been there myself.  Looks pretty.

Doug is just jealous that Stilly sucks ballz, its old a out dated. While Manhattan is newer and much better groomed, sometimes are I say, shiny. Everyone who goes to oSu whishes they would have gone to KSU after being in Stilly for about a month. I'm originally from the smelly state of OK, and everyone I know has longed to be in 'hattan instead of Stilly after just 10 minutes in the Little Apple. Doug, a catholic who tried to go to Notre Dame, also dislikes Manhattan because we have Manhattan Christian College (located directly next to the 'Ville).

I also think that Washington is a tough because of the cheese, starbucks and wine crowd. You know, all the snobby people who own the sail boats that fill the water that you see in the background of U-Dub's nowhere near capacity crowd. Very racists area of the country.

I think things will get tougher for the "fly over" schools like MU and ku.

Who can afford to "fly over" any more?  Its more of a drive by state.

At least KSU is easy to find off I-70  :ksu:.  Pigeon-U,  :fiesta: not so much.

I normally would agree with this...that is until I learned these things were in the water (video):

Starting in August, MHK gets plugged directly into one of the busiest airport hubs in the World, and gets direct flights straight out of a high school hotbed . . . so I am sticking with ku, mu, isu as toughest places to coach, being that they're strictly flyover country.

It's almost scary to think what might happen if Great Lakes Air goes jet service out of MHK with direct flights to KC and Denver.

Also that county has some stupid law that on Sundays even bars and restaurants can not serve beer over 3.2 or any liquor at all.

I spent New Year's in OKC this past year.  We couldn't buy Bud Light, Budweiser, Miller Lite, or any of the big, popular beers at a liquor store.  You had to go to a gas station or a grocery store to get that stuff.  Weird.  But yet, you could buy Corona, Heineken, Red Stripe, etc. at the liquor store.  Good game, Oklahoma liquor laws.
I'd much rather have a 69 year old coach than one that weighs 400+ pounds.

yeah...ISU...might as well be on another planet...perhaps Pluto. But, then again, Pluto is technically no longer considered a planet. So, upon further reflection it is a perfect fit, ISU = "Pluto" of recruiting.

Weird ass laws down there.  All you can get at liquors stores is pricey import stuff, or the cheapest ass domestic crap on the planet.  Not even Milwaukee's Best cheap crap either.  Cheap crap you've never heard of with a fish on the side of the can.  OK is pretty much is the worst place on the entire planet.

I think you are able to get any beer that doesn't require refrigeration, which leaves you with imports and Beer-brand beer.

honestly, i think eventually after american eagle is sold out 24/7 and it's obvious what a smashing success MHK is, united gets jealous and throws in a medium sized jet to direct to ORD.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Any beverage containing more than 3.2% alcohol, that is, most liquors, wines, and typical beer, may only be sold in licensed liquor stores at room temperature [1]. Due to this refrigeration ban, many smaller breweries such as the Spoetzl brewery and New Belgium will limit or not sell their products in Oklahoma, despite passing through the state to deliver to neighboring states

Quote
Under Oklahoma law, it is a felony to provide alcoholic beverages to the "mentally deficient," the intoxicated, and persons under 21 years of age.[3] Alcoholic beverages also may not be sold to unclothed persons or persons with exposed private parts. Conviction of this crime is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $500 for each offense

Pretty sure they ween kids from breast milk straight to Shiner Bock  :lick: in Texas.  Just another reason why our rival's state is so much cooler than OK.

Shiner Bock is good stuff.  As is Shiner Blonde.

FWIW 3.2 beer and "5%" beer is essentially the same.  Like one beer difference over the course of a case.

somewhere about 40,000 feet  American Airlines is laughing its ass off.

I love how you didn't dance around first before just jabbing that rhetorical screwdriver into his metaphorical neck.

Do direct flights from any where in Texas to Lincoln exist? :dunno:

True.  1)  No domestic stuff is 5.0 anyway, unless you're drinking some weird ass ice beer.  2) The whole by weight/by volume thing.  Actually though, pretty sure we have determined it's closer to 2 beers difference per case.

I really prefer a good Stella or Heineken on tap.  I think I'll take a long lunch. :)
