If what chupa says is true about the 90% thing then I would go w/ canon. Then when you have your canon w/ you and you see another person with a canon you can be like "hey, nice camera. did you see that turkeywhacker tourist trying to shoot his family with a nikon a couple of minutes ago. more like nikant huh. gmafb, what a bozo the clow."
yeh, its true. we use over 35 professional photogs. most die hard have switched to canon FROM nikon, and i used to be a NIKON man myself. but when a close friend whom i trust in the camera world highly suggested it, i did.
i prefer nikon point and shoots and canon DSLR's.
canon cameras can use nikon lenses, but not vice versa.
every AF lens works on ever AF camera - including the DSLR's. thats nice.
both will do the job. and do them fine. and if its for craps and giggles, then i guess a nikon will suffice.
