It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Wish I hadn't canceled my old account.  I think I melt-downed pretty hard.

Most of my melt-downing was in the chat during the selection show

That was great stuff, like 4-5 times they said, "and next up, the wildcats of............some loser school"
"Those who give up essential liberties for temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

It's good that everyone remember how the committee feels about K-State before people get their hopes up too much about this year.

Haven't found much from me yet, but have a gem from "kougs":

Rusty, quit acting all high and mighty, like you think we got what we deserved.

I understand needing to win today to get in, and admitted it all week to people at work, but jesus f'ing christ.

If we don't get in after beating T-Tech by 20 and finishing the regular season 11-4 with losses to only ku(2), OSU (road) and Nebraska (road) and having 4 of our 11 wins come on the road with one of them against Texas I might lose it.

posted this the night of our ttech win but didn't post anything after i found out we didn't make it.

Looked through my posts, no good material.

Did have a prediction though.

"If I was a betting man, I'd say we are in"

"Those who give up essential liberties for temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

About as meltdown-y as I got.  I quickly realized Syracuse and Florida State had better cases than we had.

I think this is getting at what the real problem seems to be with this year's selection; it doesn't seem the committee came out and said what 3 or 4 criteria were most important or consistently had 3 or 4 they really followed

It seems to change based on who they are talking to.  This would be a case in point, our win vs Tech doesn't seem to "count" b/c we beat them in the conference tournament.  Yet Arkansas only got in b/c of what they did in their conference tournament.  They are making no sense with that.  If they come out and say "this year we looked very strongly at quality wins, how you did in your conference tournament, and unbalanced schedules in leagues" fine, so be it.  But I don't see them saying that, in fact the only theme seems to be this unbalanced league stuff, but even then they fail to point out Purdue's 6 games in the Big 10 vs >150 RPI teams and Illinois having 5 of those.

I know.

But this was the year we were suppose to end the "firsts"

It's just another season our program won't be in the NCAA's.

It's another season where our NCAA total is stuck at 22.

This hurts. Bad.

 :frown:

It sucked. If we don't make it going 10-6 this year, we will have gone 30-18 in big 12 play the last three years, and have one #11 seed to show for it.

    Fear the Brick
for some reason, I really didn't have too many of them.

Packer asks him about unbalanced schedules and mentions TT and KSU, then asks him about why they took TT over KSU.

A!sshole Gary Williams says that because TT had to play in the South, which was tougher than the North, and mentioned that TT beat KSU in conference, then mentioned that TT lost to KSU but it was because they weighted that they had to play the day before.

It's unfu!cking believable.

...the Tourney chair says that if ku lost, they'd still be the #1 seed (so essentially, the conference tournament doesn't matter)....Arkansas gets to the finals and gets drilled and they are in (so essentially the conference tournament does matter)....KSU drills TT , has a better record and Tech gets in (so essentially the conference tournament doesn't matter).

WTF?

lmao if somehow we beat MU (lose to OSU) and win our home games and in a year where the Nort would have 2 ranked teams (possible Conf champion) the Big 12 North won't get cred for being good...it'll just be that the entire league sucks.  The Big 12 can't be good unless the South is tough, but it doesn't work the other way around.

Not many people are expecting to make it so meltdowns should be minimal.

    Hey, basketball!!!
I remember that selection show like it was yesterday. After the bracket was filled out all of the way I just broke down and came here and let my anger out on this board.

Too lazy to go look for my tirade though (plus lots of bad memories in there).

As soon as the put Arkansas up I got on here.  Did not even need to watch the rest of the show.

Now that's how you get out a f***ing blood stain.
not gonna lie.  i was upset.  didn't like stanford or tech getting in above us.  meltdown lasted about a week and was exacerbated by stanford/tech laying eggs in the first round.
When I was a kid growing up in the projects, I used to dream of going into space, of escaping the slums, of killing an Ewok!

Thank you very much Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa State, and Colorado.  You being such horrible teams is the reason we were left out.

Great job at continuing to suck.

i "took a break" from message boarding after the snub.  didn't really get back on until several weeks later.  first thing i saw was that huggs was leaving.  was like, gmafb and watched a huge international curling tourney on tv for 3 days straight.
"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."
