Had Freeman stayed a husker?  Where would that program be if Freeman had been there?

Does it kill you that Freeman has two higher level wins in his time at KSU than NU has in the same time frame?  Surrounded by completely garbage talent no less.

Nebraska was garbage his whole time at KSU.  Nobody cared if they beat NU or lost to them.

Nah.

Head to head matters more than who you guys beat, and Freeman never beat us.

Why would other teams that you defeated matter to NU fans?

As bad as Callahan was, Prince and Freeman NEVER beat them, when almost everyone else that played us who was worth a crap did.

Makes you proud to be a Wildcat, doesn't it?

Can't say I even knew what our head to head was with NU.  Never really cared I guess.  When we lose to Texas.....I don't sleep for weeks.

Better to be giant killers than division/conference winners, I guess.

You guys have taken it to the Horns twice, which is pretty much the only thing I envy about the KSU football program.

They just seem to have our number.

Last won our division in '06 (tied Missouri this year), last won the conference in 1999, by beating Applewhite's Texas team.

It's been a while since NU has done anything other than suck on the big stage.  I'm hoping that's changing as we rebuild our program.

I know, right?  Imagine if you had that loser Freeman instead of that future first-round-pick Keller?  Dudes already won a few MVPs in the league, hasn't he?

Freeman might have saved Callahan's job for a few more years, or just covered up the hollow core plaguing our team by painting it with a bright, pleasing veneer that goes about a millimeter deep, which was what the Callahan Regime was all about - an illusion, a show.

We did okay with Taylor and Ganz.  Keller was decent, but ultimately overrated and inconsistent.

Seeing where NU is now and who Freeman turned out to be, I'm glad things worked out the way they did, as painful as it was at the time.

LOL at Nubbs for honestly thinking that having a (real life) future first round pick at QB would somehow be detrimental to their team.  Of course you would rather have Taylor, Keller, and Ganz at QB than Freems, you didn't have any other choice.

There is no way I would have wanted Freeman over Ganz last year.

Freeman made the right choice for himself and I'm glad it worked out so well for him. He made K-State a much better team and likely would have done the same for Nebraska.
I wish him well in the NFL but I never watch it so it really won't matter much to me anyway.

Lol at the CUB are you 12 or 14. I swear to god, Dave, please tell the teens on this board to let the adults have intelligent conversations while the kids watch Hannah Montana. JTKSU look what your 1st round pick did for your program......nadda, zilch, zero. Taylor was Big 12 player of the year once, Ganz won a New Years Bowl game, Keller...I'll give you that one. Try to have a decent conversation w/o trying to get nasty about it.. geesh   :nono:

Imagine if either of your teams had Reesing.
According to ku police reports, the fight involved as many as 100 people.
“We’re pretty sure an incident occurred,” said Capt. Schuyler Bailey, ku Public Safety Officer
“We will handle any discipline regarding this incident internally, and we will have no further comment about it.” Perkins

I prefer not having NFL caliber players on KSU's roster.

Nebraska has done all right through the years without having an NFL-caliber QB on the roster.

Defense is what killed NU under Callahan.  Our offense was good enough to keep us in most every game.

Bottom line, I like who Ganz is as a person and player and leader better than Freeman, and am glad it worked out the way it did, as Josh seems like a tremendous douche.

Why are NU fans so obsessed with him?  Honest question.  I live in Omaha and people talk about him non-stop.  They talked about him on 1620 for a solid 45 minutes the other day.  I mean, Zac Robinson decommited from KSU and you have never heard a peep from KSU fans about him.  NU fans are weird.  Let it go d00ds.

He went from savior to traitor in the speed of a text.  11th hour betrayal like that lasts for a while.

If he sucked, we wouldn't care, but he's a pretty good QB, so it makes it more painful, thus, more hate.

It's just the way it is.

Oh, and maybe you haven't noticed, but Nebraska football fans take Nebraska football very seriously, which is probably why an unlikely program in the middle of nowhere with zero recruiting advantage is considered one of the elite programs in college football.

/shrugs.

Wishful thinking.

Nebraska is still considered a bastion of college football by anyone who matters, much like other recently struggling programs like ND, FSU and Michigan.  A few down years don't change that, as much as KSU fans would love that to be the case.
