Last won our division in '06 (tied Missouri this year), last won the conference in 1999, by beating Applewhite's Texas team.

It's been a while since NU has done anything other than suck on the big stage.  I'm hoping that's changing as we rebuild our program.

There is no way I would have wanted Freeman over Ganz last year.

Freeman made the right choice for himself and I'm glad it worked out so well for him. He made K-State a much better team and likely would have done the same for Nebraska.
I wish him well in the NFL but I never watch it so it really won't matter much to me anyway.

Nebraska has done all right through the years without having an NFL-caliber QB on the roster.

Defense is what killed NU under Callahan.  Our offense was good enough to keep us in most every game.

Bottom line, I like who Ganz is as a person and player and leader better than Freeman, and am glad it worked out the way it did, as Josh seems like a tremendous douche.

Why are NU fans so obsessed with him?  Honest question.  I live in Omaha and people talk about him non-stop.  They talked about him on 1620 for a solid 45 minutes the other day.  I mean, Zac Robinson decommited from KSU and you have never heard a peep from KSU fans about him.  NU fans are weird.  Let it go d00ds.

Nebraska is still considered a bastion of college football by anyone who matters, much like other recently struggling programs like ND, FSU and Michigan.  A few down years don't change that, as much as KSU fans would love that to be the case.
