Wow, this sprinkled in with my incredibly huge hangover makes for a perfect Sunday.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

So in conclusion our offence is as good as Viginia Tech, Michigan, Notre Dame and USC and will only get better with the stud Freeman.  Out defence is better than OU's and NU by a long shot.  Big 12 championship here we come.

    The very best.
Our D #'s are very good
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

    THE b IS NOT CAPITALIZED
Your offense kicks serious ass at 4th down conversions.
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

We still have a winning record.

I would be concerned once we have a losing record.

I thought we would have a winning conference record at this point in the season.   :frown:

0-1 is really bad if that was the only game we played.

I think we can still win 4 games in the conference, but the O-Line is going to have to get better.  And we have to capitalize on offense.  After reviewing the game, we had about 10 opportunities to put points up.    We didn't.  That would have changed the game.

I like your optimism but I just don't see more than 2 or 3 wins (OSU, CU, ku).  Other than those I think we're screwed unless Freeman comes along very, very quickly.  It is very hard to win with a true freshman as your QB, especially when you don't have any other weapons to take the heat off him.  This is going to be a very long hard season for Cat fans.  At least we've been through this before.

When I evaluated the season at the beginning, I looked at the schedule as home games vs. away games.  We have 8 home games and if we can defend our turn and win 6 of those, then we don't have as much pressure to win on the road.

Realistically, Louisville and Texas are considered losses (1-0 in that prediction) and the remaining home games are OSU, NU, Iowa State.  That leaves Baylor, Mizzou, ku and Colorado, and I thought Baylor would be the win, but we'd need just ONE win on the road to get 7 wins and a bowl game.  Colorado could now be that win.  I thought maybe ku and Mizzou could be wins, but those teams seem to have found their groove and so more than likely, we end up 0 fer in the eastern border wars.   The only good side is that KSU/ku will be an emotional game, and Mizzou still has Pinkel.

We should be able to take OSU and Nebraska.  I don't care what Nubb fans say, Nebraska is not as good as they are touted.  Callahan's strategy is to score early and quick, and against teams in the Big 12, scoring early and quick will not win you games if you have a suspect defense like Nubb does.   They are hurting in the secondary and their linebackers aren't really that good.  Carriker is the only standout on that side and even then, he's been ineffective in really getting great plays.

Baylor told us a lot about our team.   We have no offense.  We put just two TD's on the board, we win that game because the D will have no pressure on them.   A team that doesn't have to play for pressure does a better job.

So while I'm optimistic, the reality is, KSU looks like a 5-7 team right now, maybe, but if we can just get the offense to score points, and take advantage of at least 1/2 the opportunities (TO', ST play, etc.) then we could be 7-5 or even 8-4.   All we need is an offense, and right now, that's a tall order.  OSU will give our offense all it can handle.  We have to get out there and set the tone.  Raheem will do the rest.
