ha,

wierd.  4 weeks has gone by really fast.  i still want them but since I started chewing the gum before I quit totally my last memories of having one were totally unsatisfying because of the gum.  If that makes sense.

B. You cant chew on a airplane I got my ass ripped by a flight attendant on the way to the bahamas

:dunno: I chewed on airplanes for 5 years. Never had any problems.

Edit to include: chewing is easier to quit than smoking because you don't go out back and have a chew with your friends or go outside and take a dip to avoid someone at a party. The physical addiction to smoking is the least difficult thing to overcome.

The fact that you can chew almost anywhere makes it even harder to quit IMO. You could crank a dip at the movie theater, on the plane, playing video games on the coach, on the can, in bed, during road trips in the car with other people, in class, in church...

I worked for a lawyer here in DC who used to throw in a dip during the trial.

You don't have to take a "smoke break" or walk outside in the rain/snow/cold/heat whatever. You don't have to roll down the window and you don't force everyone around you to partake.

Goddamn it was a fantastic vice.

i know a couple of medical type people who will see patients with a chew in. gotta be against the law and stuff. also kind of cracks me up everytime i see it. but goes to show that yeah...you can pretty much chew whenever you want to.

I love the smell of peat in the evening.  That smell, you know that earthy smell...  Smells like...whisky !

Alright, I'm off the gum now for 2 days.  Going strong.  I think I'm done forever.  About 8 weeks total. 200 $ worth of gum.  Wife did the patch and she's done better than I have.  I'm still kind of in a stage where I don't want to be around smoke at all and haven't gone out much.

Definite changes I've noticed
Taste
Smell
most importantly though is my energy levels have gone up tremendously especially waking up in the morning.
