There's a new sheriff in town.
I know, I know.
But seriously, working on a project for a family member. (I've never been to Hays)

What are some hot-spots for the college kids in Hays?
This is what I have so far:
Sip and Spin
Brass Rail
Gella's (?)
Golden Cue
Taco Shop

Is there a park there?
America park or something like that?

TIA.

I think I remember some dinosaur museum being there  :dunno:
Should be pretty popular with the college kids, right?

Frontier Park is the big one.  Very popular in the frisbee golf circles.

Sternberg Museum was mentioned, but not sure how much its a hotspot.  Worth a visit, tho.

Taco Grande was still pretty popular out there, but it may be about the only one left.  Plus they deliver to keep up with Taco Shop.

That and the others mentioned were about all I remember from my time out there.

The professors? or Doctors or something like that.  Seemed okay. Food was decent, had a bar area.  Might be 'on the wrong side of the tracks' : drove by some naked toddler walking around in the street or something on my way there for lunch one time.

The Taco Shop is horrible.  Actually go north to Plainville and go to Tina's Bar & Grill.  It's on Mill St.  They have great steaks, better than anything Hays has.

Take 183 south to Liebenthal.  Jerrys Beef Jerky is super legit.  And a cool little hole-in-the-wall bar is right next door.  Oh, and there's a pretty cool/really old catholic church across the street.

I'd second Gella's.  They have some darn good microbrews.

Slucat is right.  Professors is good food.  But has bar area, but nothing on tap.  Bottles only for beer.  Strange.  Not really wrong side of the tracks.  That's more in the southeast part of town if at all.

The jerky from Liebenthal is great.  I'll 2nd that one.

Skip Al's Chickenette.  Waaaay overrated.  There's another chicken place (besides KFC) that I can't remember the name of that's a lot better.

If your friend plays golf, go over to Ellis instead of Ft Hays course.  Better course and its cheaper.  Only $8 for 9 holes when I lived out there.

Isn't there a brewpub called Liquid Bread in Hays?  Chick I used to bang brought me back a growler of IPA from a Liquid Bread, pretty sure it was in Hays...

I think Gella's is the restaurant side and Liquid Bread is the brewery.  They're the same place.
